Morrowind multiplayer would only work over a closed LAN or IP game with at most 8 other people who you probably would know anyway. A massive server is just an awful idea and would effectively kill the game because everyone would be on the lookout for 10 year old illusionist mages who PK people walking around the map.

That's exactly my opinion. Should be like the Baldur's Gate series, focussed on single player but ALSO possible as multiplayer over LAN or TCP/IP.

That is exactly what i was talking about in my last post. Also with that system mods can be used.

Its pretty funny since i got also got some of the ideas from the BG series and also mods in games can be used online and can be done like it is in neverwinter nights since it supports online mod play.

The basic structure of Morrowind is such that it simply wouldn't make a decent multi-player game. Why try to distort it into something its isn't? Also, as a purely hypothetical side-issue, I suspect most players would rather see the developer devote resources to the next generation game than to a half-baked MPG which might prove a finacial disaster.

Making the game multiplayer does not really hurt the game if you think of it as the other people who join happen to be mercenaries who work for you. In the normal game it is possible to have other NPC's join, follow, and fight for you. It dies not really ruin the game since youcan have ohter poeple in the normal. It could be like the mercenary from tribunal but instead someone else is controlling the character.
