Jayjay3687
Hey guys. I recently bought Fallout: New Vegas for the PC (I had it on Xbox previously, but got it on the PC because of all the mods, so that i had a better gaming experience). I downloaded a few mods, not taking note of the files that I had been putting into my data folder. (n00b mistake) And when i was playing i took off my female characters armor to find that her head and hands were different skin pigments from the body. I new it was something wrong with my data folder because I started a new game and the same thing happened. I figured it was my mods. So from there, I went into my data folder and (to the best of my memory) erased the files from my mods. I must admit that i am VERY paranoid, and that is why I am writing this. I wanted to know if someone could tell me if i have everything that is supposed to be in my data folder, and if I am missing anything. (please see picture) P.S. My character's Pigment is back to normal.P.S.S. The point of this is just so that i can back up my data folder (if it is correct) and if this problem happens again i could just return it to it's original data folder. Thanks for your help my fellow modders. http://imgur.com/qX08X
Jayjay3687
Yeahhhhh I just realized I put this on the wrong forum. (n00b mistake #2) sorry
chocklymon
Well your data folders look fine to me. In the future you might want to use one of the many mod managers that are out there. Most of them do a great job cleaning up when you remove a mod. As for your character's weird skin colors, this could be caused by invalid archive invalidation. New Vegas has an issue where it doesn't always load files that are not inside of the .bsa archive files. There are several programs that help fix this bug, and the better mod managers will do it automatically. Best of luck! P.S. Welcome to the wonderful world of Mods. Jayjay3687
Yeahhhhh I just realized I put this on the wrong forum. (n00b mistake #2) sorryThanks mate. It's been a pain arse making sure i had the right files in my data folder. And do you think you could post a link to one of the mod managers, perhaps the one you personally use (if you use one)? (this was actually meant for chocklymon, i clicked the wrong button) Edited July 10, 2012 by Jayjay3687

And do you think you could post a link to one of the mod managers, perhaps the one you personally use (if you use one)? I'm currently using the Nexus Mod Manager. I've also used Fallout Mod Manager successfully for a long time. I would recommend the nexus mod manager since you can easily perform one click downloads from withing the site and it is constantly being improved. But you can't go wrong with either one. And in case you need it here is the link to the Archive Invalidation.
