Timihendrix91
know what I am about to say is one of the most cliche things a Republican could say about Obama, but he truly has next to no experience. Serving 2 years in congress and going to half the meetings does not qualify you to be President. The same argument was used against President Clinton. Let's look at some of the things that were accomplished under his administration, A 290 billion dollar national deficit (the largest up to that point) was reduced and ended in a 167 billion dollar surplus (the largest up to that point.) Of course, thanks to the previous 8 years, we now have a 9 trillion dollar deficit. 21.2 million more jobs were created, which is more than any under any Presidential administartion. The nation saw the fastest and longest real-wage increase in three decades. Home ownership was the highest in this nation's history. The poverty rate was the lowest that it had been in two decades. I could go on, but I think I've made my point. Obama himself has said that he is friends with him. Just another case of liberals trying to cover up Obama's vast inexperience, or other similar issues such as being friends with criminals, liars, terrorists, and racistsArticle 1Article 2 Wait Russia is the good guy? all Georga wanted was to join NATO and Russia attacked them How is that good? also if you read newspaper articles and watch the news you would know that Putin is the prime minster of RussiaWhich hold just as much power as the President. Odd don't you think?... No. Georgia attacked and subsequently invaded the country of South Ossetia. South Ossetia used to be a part of Georgia, but broke away in 1990. 90% of the people that live in the city Georgia attacked are Russian passport holders, and Russian peace-keepers were killed in the process. Russia invaded Georgia as a response to that and to protect South Ossetia, who wanted to become a part of Russia (North Ossetia had already joined Russia). Russia did nothing wrong in this. However, Georgia has been sucking up to the West for quite a while now, and has become quite chummy with the Bush Administration. Because of this, the US backed Georgia, even though they were the aggressors in this situation. Yes, but he is not the leader of Russia. The Prime Minister is the head of government. The President is the head of state. What exactly is middle class? From what I get out of it is at a max of 249.9k per year? if you make more than that you DESERVE to have itWell, according to McCain, middle class is anyone who makes less than 5 million dollars. However, that is obviously not the case. Really? Do people who are able to afford whatever they want deserve more tax breaks than people who are hardly able to pay the bills they have? Also it is US who make the oil companies rich don't we buy their gas and oil? if you want them to not make money well then get a rally together and tell people to buy electric cars. I know I have one, do you? The oil companies are a business they are THERE to make money so if you don't like them don't buy any plastics or gasoline powered carsThey are getting rich off of us because we have no choice. We have to drive. That's good that you have an electric car, however most are not cheap and the average person can't afford to go out and buy a new car. A lot of people can hardly afford to fill up their own gas tank! They are there to make money, but why do they deserve tax breaks? And why do companies that out-source jobs to China deserve tax breaks? It's giving rewards to companies that are making this economy weaker. Monarch_Anor
Personally I don't believe in taxes service taxes yes but not the taxing based of how much money you make I realize this means nothing but I'm still going to say it. the response to your question though is yes I can name 3 people off the bat who made it from poverty to middle class-rich 1.Lincoln2.Oprah3.and believe it or not Stonewall Jackson My point being there people came from nothing why can't other people? I went into HEB and was talking to one of the people who worked there, she was a Katerina evacuee WITH a job. She was talking about how the Katerina evacuees needed to do thing with their lives and make money through a job. I was like (but did not say) good for you lady! while she may never become so called "rich" if she stays where she is she could very well become an assistant manager or manager Isn't that better than living of welfare? but, then again I can also name 1 person who had lots of money but lost it all Ulysses S Grant. ya believe it or not but he lost everything :( poor guy About Russia CNN on Russia also you said that Putin was head of the Government and not the state EDIT: also I would like proof that Georgia attacked South Ossetia because as far as I know South Ossetia is a STATE of Georgia not its own country. I recognize this as fact but I think it a bit odd that he still holds a possiton of power Then again that could just be the a coincidence but maby not. Javalin
I'm not a US citizen, or used to be. I'm British. But from any of the Presidential Elections held by the US. I really wouldn't know who to vote for, even if I was American. Here are some interesting facts I've come across while reading through this thread: --Obama:-- InexperiencedWants to bring troops out of Iraq- Shows that he cares about the troops. --Mccain: (War Junky)-- Experienced Soldier:- Explains why he'd get the job done at Iraq. (Promotes Wars) Would probably make an experienced leader. But what was his rank in Vietnam? As far as I know, A commanding officer would be anyone who was a Leuitenant or Higher, Correct? But this wouldn't neccesarily make him a good leader of a country would it? -- I only brought up these facts because they interested me alot more than others. But didn't both promise to reduce taxes anyway? Not that I understand why anyone should have to pay to live their life.

DarkWarrior45
So in just over two months the next US Presidential Election will be here. If you plan on voting, who will it be for? I unfortunately will be just under the age limit (I turn 18 in january..), which is a big bummer for me. If I was old enough though, I would vote for Obama. I support his stand on energy, the economy, Iraq, and foreign policiy more than I do McCain's. I'm not 100% opposed to McCain, but I am weary of his war-mongering additude that he sometimes displays, such as when he stated that he would keep us in the middle east for a hundred years if he felt it needeed that. This is of course a topic for everyone, but if you don't live in the US, I'd appreciate it if you don't vote in the poll. Just so we all can see how the people herethat actually are able to participate in this election feel. At first I wasn't to thrilled on any of the candidates except Clinton. If she had got the domination, I would have voted for her. I don't like Obama, not because of race, but because of his view on Iraq, his stance on abortion/homosexuality, and the fact he's acting more like a hollywood celebrity who thinks they're already elected than someone who really cares about the American People. McCain was ok, until Friday. The stance that Palin takes on many things is what I think the US needs, and I'm going to throw my vote in for McCain because I think Palin needs to be in the White House. Lord Slyther
Between McCain and Obama.... Well, I gotta say that Barack Obama is trying to pull out the troops in Iraq after they won the fight, and I don't know if they really won the fight or not. But the sidestep I didn't like about Obama is trying to raise the bill on oil and gas companies?! I mean, come on! You really think I would have that much enough money to pay for gas? McCain, well I wanted some of our troops, not all of them, return home and rest, while send in another team or squad. I couldn't imagine a Vietnam war veteran running for president. At least I believe he won't raise the prices on gas as Obama would deny lowering them anyway. So I really don't know what to pick. I would want both some of our troops to come back in USA, and lower gas prices combined, but the American way doesn't go from my view. I'm the only American who mostly sees things like how Canadians do. Unlike most idiots in my country, I see the way of freedom.

Just what to make an off-topic comment, is everyone aware that Bush signed a deal with the Iraqi PM to pull all troops out by 2011? If so, then McCain, if elected, would have to honor that. Obama would probably in my opinion make the mistake of pulling out in 60 days, but I could be wrong on that.
Michlo
Wow. Just wow. I was already dismayed this weekend both by learning that my room-mate would rather vote for McCain than "a Muslim" and by McCain's choice of VP. Not that I'd ever vote Republican anyway but this woman is SCARY and yet someone here is saying she is what we need. SO SAD. She has far less experience than Obama so let's hope McCain stops going on about Obama's inexperience but more frighteningly, her record so far shows she is completely against equality (which, I thought to be one of our so-called core values), was FORCED by the Supreme Court to give benefits to her state employees which she had fought against, is against abortion even when it is due to rape and / or the mother is at risk, is racist, homophobic and a complete religious nut. Just go and read what the Human Rights Campaign has to say about her. It is absolutely ridiculous that this woman could end up being President of the United States. If the Republicans somehow manage to get in again I'm going to seriously consider either going back home to England or perhaps to Canada as it would prove that this country has lost the plot. I agree that Palin is JUST what this country needsI never read anywhere that she is raciest I would LOVE proof of that and besides that you need to explain why you support Obama and not McCain you just said you thought it was sad on abortion I realize this is opinionated but regardless, if the mother is at risk- I believe that the mother has lived a longer life than the child he/she(the baby) should have a chance Childbirth (in my opinion) should be kept natural and so if the mother and child are at risk then it is their time to go and I regret their departing from this life What is wrong with being a religious "nut" now i'm not going to turn this into a Religious debate (that's against the rules for the people who don't know) but if she belives in God you shouldent hold it against her I don't hold anything against Atheists I hate to break it too you but if Homosexuality becomes legal it will open a whole new debates with marriageMultiple wives/husbands (there is a word but I forgot it) which was bannedAnimals (that's just wrong in my opinion but there are crazy people)I don't care if a person is gay/lesbian that's their choice I think the states should decide. Regardless of experience you can learn, she could be VP not president she could learn Personal Note:I don't hold it against Obama that he is inexperiencedyes I realize that Obama is NOT Muslim

I believe you are far too closed minded to listen anyway. For what it's worth though.... For the proof you need for her racism, the web is at your fingertips. The one point I will address is your ridiculous belief that if same sex people are allowed to marry this will somehow open the door to polygamy and bestiality. Instead of listening to these often hyped ideas, use your head. Being homosexual is NOT a choice. Nobody in their right mind would CHOOSE to live as a 2nd class citizen. Polygamy and bestiality are nothing akin to homosexuality. They ARE choices. In this world and especially in this country, EVERYONE ought to have equal rights. Period. Good luck to you on your journey.
