KainZero26
Hi all, I've been playing around with the creation kit after I downloaded a few mods that add spears, in the mods they use standard two handed animations so I thought I might switch them to one handed but no matter what I do they won't use those animations, I can kind of glitch them to work but as soon as I unequip then equip them again it messes up and goes back to two handed, does anyone know whats going on or what I've done wrong, any help would be gratefully recieved. Thanks in advance :) Edited July 10, 2012 by KainZero26
Xxbtztrl
Im new to modding myself and inexperienced, im not sure if this would be accurate but by guessing-I dont think that you can make a two-handed weapon to keep one-handed animations as its' own true value, I think it would be much easier to just create a duplication of a one-handed weapon in the vanilla game (with an animation you want or perhaps customly make your own animations for it) and replace the mesh/textures for that weapon with the spear's. If you've seen people make mods to have one-handed weapons to have two-handed weapon animations (or vice versa), I would believe they just replaced the mesh/textures of one-handed weapons with two-handed weapons to swap places with each other to make an illusion to make it seem as if their weapon properties changed. I hope this info works for you!
Stemin
The animation doesn't change the way the weapon is handled. You have to change the settings(for lack of a better term) in the .nif files and then make the appropriate changes in the ck, but you don't change the animations. http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/600056-using-two-handed-sword-as-one-handed/page__p__5478359__fromsearch__1#entry5478359 Edited August 6, 2012 by Stemin
