senterpat Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 So I've never been able to alt-tab my skyrim, and I just found out how to do it! I've seen that other people have this problem, so I thought I'd share. If you alt-tab back into skyrim, and it doesn't open all the way back up, alt-tab into skyrim again (hold down alt and hit tab til your back at skyrim) this lets me open up skyrim again, and it works everytime so far, regardless of whether or not I'm paused. I did have an issue with my mouse being in the skyrim window once, but changing cells fixed that. I hope somebody finds this useful.
senterpat Posted July 13, 2012 Author Posted July 13, 2012 It's never worked for me. Even updated all the way it doesn't work.
CarlCorey Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 If you don't mind downloading and installing a (free) Windows program called AutoHotKey, this mod gets around the weird Alt-tab behavior.
KingFrostman Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 I usually do ctrl-alt-dlt then press escape after i alt-tab back to skyrim.
flobalob Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 (edited) I find that if I press tab in Skyrim to bring up the menu before alt+tabing out everything is fine, but if I don't then I end up with 2 mouse cursors (the Skyrim one and the Windows one). Whats worse is they don't move at the same speed  Edited July 14, 2012 by flobalob

Yes, If you are going to tab out, or leave your PC for a bit then press tab first to bring up the game menu. It works for me, I'm using SBW to run Skyrim in a window so i'm not sure about fullscreen.
