Are there any good guides to follow for creating a follower for special edition? I feel like I'm 80% done with creating a follower. It's just when I load the follower up in the game the face is black and the hair choice is the default. My face in creation kit isnt showing up in game and its annoying. I dont know what to do.

Here are two of the ones I've used. They were started for Skyrim LE, but should work for you with SSE also, although I thought SSE should have been generating facial details automatically.

By chance, if you look in these folders, (if they exist) are there meshes and textures present for the follower you've made?

meshes > actors > character > facegendata > facegeom

textures > actors > character > facegendata > facetint

If they are present, they should be in a subfolder with the same name as your .esp. If they're not present, finding the actor in the object window (by expanding the tree down to race and finding them in the list, rather than by typing their name in the search box) and pressing CTRL + F4 should create some.

I'm not sure about the hair. Never messed with hair mods, but a wild guess would be make sure the meshes and textures for the modded hair are also in the right file path.
