Ikalomus
So I have been modding SkyrimSE for a bit and I am fairly familiar with how to use SKSE64. I followed the guide by Gopher exactly and I have done several reinstallations at this point. When I run the "skse64_loader.exe" The usual brief window pops up and it should then immediately load into SkyrimSE. Instead however. Steam sees that Skyrim is running and forces the the normal SkyrimSE Launcher to run preventing SKSE64 launcher from running. As a fun little side note as I am writing this post I tried running it once more time to get the Skyrim version and ,surprise, the SKSE64 Launcher worked. I am guessing it has to do with how steam likes to keep tabs on what is running but that is my only guess. Anyone else seeing this behavior? Versions:SKSE64 2.0.12 (runtime 1.5.62)SkyrimSE 1.5.62.0.
sodaRAIN10
It happens; if steam isn't running, if you launch skse64 loader. Steam will start up and normal skyrim se launcher will pop up. Just close that out and then start up skse64 launcher again. Steam does that and it's common as I deal with it too. But be careful! Make sure skyrim se auto update is turned OFF and set it to (Only update when I launch the game). If Bethseda updates it; if so, that will break skse64 and other skse64 related mods. I just let steam run in the background so when I launch skse64, it won't start up normal skyrim se.
wfandrews
Steam must be running in order to launch oldrim or SSE. Just remember to start Steam before launching thru SKSE64. I always start Steam, go to offline, and close it with the x in the top right corner. You can then launch it with SKSE64; of course you do not have to play offline, that is just my preference. Ikalomus
Sorry for the VERY late response. Life decided to drag me off into the real world for a bit. Interesting that it needs steam running. Well if its just a an annoyance to live. Thanks for the info.
