Incorrect UI Display For Breakdown Recipes.

I've been working on a mod for New Vegas that involves a metric truckload of new Recipes. As of currently, all of the Recipes seem to work as intended when I test them in-game, but a good chunk of the Breakdown Recipes show the Ingredients being broken down instead of what the Breakdown results in despite being tagged properly in the GECK as in the "Breakdown" Subcategory. If any additional reference material is needed, I can supply screenshots of in-game Recipes and the GECK and all of the problematic Recipes are in the "Workbench" Category. Specific "items" to be broken down have to be done in the appropriate "crafting bench" category: Reloading bench, workbench, campfire (which includes electric plates), and "vending machine" (from Dead Money). It becomes easy to forget to check and change this when working through a series of recipes of a given type. Not everything can be done in the "workbench".

"Ingredients" are the "input" to the recipe entry. "Outputs" are what you get as a result of the "breakdown". If you are getting "Ingredients" (input) as "output", then you have them in your "Output tab". While you can have the same output as an "ingredient" input, it is usually in a different quantity. With a "breakdown" recipe, the inputs shouldn't appear in the output tab (except possibly for a "catalyst" tool such as a hammer) or what's the purpose?

Let's see an example instance of your problem.

For a brief example, the Recipes that are supposed to be Breakdowns give me the correct items, say I "Breakdown" 1 Mini Nuke and it gives me multiple smaller items. Soem of these Recipes show correctly on the Crafting Menu UI, telling me the items I get from the Breakdown, while others simply show the ingredients needed, and not the "Output". I added a comparison image to the post, just in case.

Sorry: your image isn't appearing. Images and attachments like ZIP files can't generally be posted directly to the forums. You would have to put them on another site and use the "URL Link" icon on the "Reply to this topic" page menu bar to point to it. Please see "How to markup images (etc) in forum posts and comments".

I see three theoretical possibilities here:

1. You are not putting standard "Editor-ID" names in the "Output" tab, so the system can't figure out what they are supposed to be. As these are supposed to come from "pick lists", that shouldn't be the problem.

2. Some mod has altered the display of the "crafting" "Breakdown" recipe and is failing to show the "Outputs". It is unlikely this would only occur with some recipes and not others, assuming they are properly constructed. In this instance, we would need to consider any HUD-UI-Menu mods you have in use. Such issues tend to be "all-or-nothing", but ...? If this is a possibility, please see the wiki "HUD-UI-Menu issues" article.

3. You have some "condition" (requirement) to the recipe which is preventing it from being able to perform the "breakdown"; hence no "outputs". In the absence of other information, I consider this the most likely cause. Your comparison image should clarify that.

The comparison image is the link added in the original post, which should redirect you to an image I posted on the Nexus site for easier access. In addition, the only modification to my game is NVSE and all of the official DLC. Aside from that, my game is currently in a vanilla state.

Could you extract one working recipe (and it's requirements) and one non functioning recipe into a seperate .esp and load it minus the .esp your working on and see if you still have the issue? I am wondering by Metric truckload of recipes do you have them all on one page or separated into different subcategories? Maybe it's too many one on page.

My bad. I didn't realize you had added the image to the first post and failed to see it.

No surprises there from what you had been telling me. What we need to see is screenshots of the "Ashtray breakdown" "Recipe Entry" form and it's three tabs: Requirements, Ingredients, and Outputs.

I will try to get as many detailed screenshots soon, but to answer the question about requirements, all of the problematic recipes I have encountered are "Breakdown" Recipes, and none of them require any skill number of any of the skills. They are visible from the start of the game and have no skill requirements, to be precise.
