Moonmaiden37
I have a question I hope someone can help me with. I have quest and legends on both my laptop and desk top computers. My question is: When I have the ability to have all the powers, i.e. Rouge, Warrior and Mage. On my laptop, I can wear mage robes and Alistair can teach me the Templars ability, yet on the desktop, I can't do either of these things. Is it a mod I'm missing? or one I've got that interferes with this? or is it that I have windows vista on my desktop and windows 7 on my laptop? I really hope someone can help, because I have Hsli's sexy robes and they are the ones I'd like to be able to wear even if I'm not a mage. I know I can wear them as a mage, but on my laptop, I can wear them even if I'm not, because of q & l. Thank you if anyone can help. I'd be really grateful. Thanks again. ell46
I see this is quite an old post and maybe you have solved your problem, but just in case. As far as I'm aware Alistair can only teach you templar skills if you are a warrior, I don't use cheats so wouldn't be aware if there was a mod to by pass that requirement. Thandal
It's definitely a mod that you've installed on the laptop that lets this happen. As Ell said, normally, only Warriors can be Templars The full breakdown by Class is as follows:Mage; Arcane Warrior, Blood Mage, Shapeshifter, Spirit Healer,Rogue; Assassin, Bard, Duelist, RangerWarrior; Berserker, Champion, Reaver, Templar
Moonmaiden37
I think I may have, but I haven't talked to Alistair yet about teaching the Templar abilty . I had a soul destroying moment with this computer just recently. It was running very slow (read just on minimum specs for the game.) So I decided to upgrade the memory, took it in to the repairer who does those things, he put in new ram for me, went to boot it up, left it running for a few minutes when he heard a bang, graphics card blew up. The fan was so clogged with dirt and dust, it didn't work. So we decide on a new graphics card too, then that wouldn't go at first, then and the worst my hard drive died. I lost everything. I didn't have anything to back up my stuff on the computer, so all my games, photos, and some sayings I had downloaded all gone. I had finished "origins" with two of my characters, (one was part way through "Awakenings") so I was devestated. Now I get to start all over again with everything, and I transfered all my mods from the zipped files I kept, to this computer, and my elf could wear the mage outfits, so I'm guessing I'll be able to have the Templar talent too. I don't know if you actually get it as I haven't seen it in my stats file, he just says he can teach you as well, as though you are a warrior. Thanks anyway people. It's nice to know that people care enough to help, if they can.
Codifer
Whatever that "repairman" charged you... it was too much. Changing/adding RAM is about a five minute task from opening the case to closing the case. Blowing dust from the components should be routine and beneficial to both the "repairman" and the client. If he did not do this routine cleaning.... he is more thief than repairman. Buy a couple of cans of "canned air" and a small, soft brush and set up a schedule of blowing the dust from components . Dust creates heat and heat is death for components. Keep cool. Cheers
Moonmaiden37
He was very embaressed (?) about it all, and only charged for the upgrade and the new graphics card. The Hard drive and his service he gave for free. I don't know if I can buy cans of air here in the country, I live two hours north of Tamworth in country New South Wales, In Oz. I've heard of it, but have never seen it. He used an old vaccuum cleaner, after the accident. Would that be just as good? Thanks for your concern anyway.
Thandal
Glad to hear an "honest repairman" story. There are more good guys out there than one might think. Since everything was opened up and accessible anyway, the vacuum was probably as good a way as any to do a dust bunny clean-up. Usually more awkward than the canned air approach, since it doesn't have a nice long "straw" to get in all the tiny spots. On the other hand it actually removes what it can get, rather than just blowing it about.
Codifer
Sounds like he tried to do the right thing (tho a bit late). Perhaps some things might be ordered online... canned air etc. I use a small, hand held vacuum with a small brush attached that was designed for computer cleaning. It works well enough in combination with the canned air. The summers here (Northern California) are very hot and my household has five cats and two dogs and they shed enough hair to build a small gorilla.... cleaning is essential. I also have installed larger fans to improve airflow through the case. The fans are cheap enough and the case is large. If you are using a standard case this may not be entirely possible for you. Your isolation is something that I long for at times but I would suppose that there are drawbacks. I will try to find the specs on the little vacuum and post them for you... you might be able to have one shipped. Cheers
Sync182
You might be able to get canned air from Officeworks; Corporate Express would sell it (I'm only guessing though - never looked tbh). Nice to see a fellow Aussie here, too. :)
Moonmaiden37
Thank you one and all for your concern on my behalf. It's nice to know that there are still people who are willing to help out others. I'm glad to know of other Aussies on here too. Again thank you everyone.
