NPCS. Textures. VRAM/CPU?

This isnt a performance/optimizing/tweaking thread.

 

 

Just a simple request, had a few issues figuring out what was bottlenecking oblivion.

 

----- I have a Nvidia GTX280 with 1gb Ram, AMD Phenon 9500 2.4ghz Quad CPU -----

 

 

So what i wanted to know is, what uses what?

 

 

I know textures packs etc use VRAM. I was looking at the FCOM page for VRAM usage.

I use all the highest res packs, QTP3 and the 4096 landscape ones. With 1gb VRAM on my card and 4gig system is this enough to run smoothly in cities along with Open Better Cities mod and many others.

 

Or is mainly the NPCs that slow it down, cos im guessing NPCS mainly use processor speed.

 

Anyway it seems to run perfect with just the texture packs on and no other mods. Even in IC Market district, but a soon i put on better cities it drops to about 5fps. Is this purely because all the objects brought in by BC are having the QTP3 put on them?

 

Also if i DIDNT use BC, and i used MTAEVWD, the fps was even lower.

 

Im guessing this is because every single distant rock and tree was also "Qarl'd".....

 

I would love to use them all together but i cannot get rid of QTP3 is realy does look poo without.
