One word: Were Saber Cat!

Relativelybest

So I finally made a character for whom turning into a werewolf actually feels appropriate. Thing is, she's a catgirl, and it kinda sorta feels a bit thematically weird for her to go from feline to canine. Yes, I know going from hominid to canine makes just as little sense. It still bugs me, though.

So I was thinking: Sabercat head + sabrecat tail + werewolf body, plus some new textures and sound replacements = weresabercat!

...Come on, I can't be the only one who thinks this would be totally awesome.

You could use this mod http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/1307 or the werecat-meshes and -textures from Skyrim Monster Mod (which has a more cat-like tail, I think), extracting archives and placing the meshes at the right path to replace the Werewolf-meshes. That should do for the looks.

For the sounds you could look up the correct paths and place sounds you find fitting for a werecat, I think there was a mod that replaces the Khajiit-voice with lion-roaring and stuff, they might fit. Should be easy to find with the search-bar

If you are uncertain if you can use the meshes and sounds of another mod, you can simply ask the modder, but if it's just for yourself I guess they won't have anything against you using them.

I'd actually love to se all sorts of therianthrophes like werecats, werebears and wereboars (which are all in the TES-lore already) to run Skyrim and possibly turning you into one. See link in my signature for details.

Well, close enough for what I'm going for, I suppose. Visually, anyway.

Would love to do all this, but I don't even have the creation kit, and last time I tried to do some advanced changes to a mod (in Fallout 3) I messed it up so badly I had to uninstall the game and start over. So I'm not really confident in my own modding skills.

If you want to replace any files you can simply put them into the right folder in your data-folder, you don't need any esp for that. That's exactly what every texture- or mesh-raplacer does.

To use the meshes of a bsa-file, you have to extract them (FO3 Arcive manager is compatible with the bsa-files used in Skyrim) and and place them into the correct folder (don't forget to rename them). Not sure how the textures have to be placed, either at the path where they are in the bsa-file or where the Werewolf-textures are placed. That's somewhat tricky, at least for me, as some items in the game use the same meshes but different textures (which indicates that the texture-path can be changed with an esp/esm) and I don't know how the texture-path is assigned to the meshes in the first place.

You can also look up the correct file-paths using the arcive-manager, if you don't know an easyer way to get them.

You should check Skyrim Monster Mod. There was an optional download that let you change the vanilla werewolf model into some of the monsters (Werecat included). I don't know if it's still available, thought.
