CTDs before I can get to Whiterun, how do I fix?

So I've been trying to get into whiterun for the past four hours and kept CTDing right before a house mod I got. I got rid of a few mods, and was able to make it inside the house, explore a bit, and CTD again. Got rid of a few more mods, that house included and was able to make it all the way up to the front door to Whiterun. What can I do to stop from CTDing (at all if possible)?
I am LOOT to organize my plugins, heard that it wasn't perfect so any suggestions for that is welcome. I would like to keep the mods I have left if at all possible but if I have to, what else do I need to get rid of?
