Tamreil--Most fit place in the world

Well I can't say that i'm sad or angered by the fact that Bethesda has a gripe against fat people, but it's a bit ridiculous that there isn't a single person that's overweight. I know everyone wants to say, "Are you forgetting that during these times everyone has to manually get their food and supplies in order to survive? That surely explains why EVERYONE looks like they are doing the P90X, right??" Well no, that's a nice cop out however for the people who don't want to think this through. There were many kings and queens in our own past that actually died due to being too overweight after all, during a time not too different than Skyrim's or any of the Elder Scroll games. In any type of society there will be wealthier people who don't have to lift a finger to get food or do any manual labor. At the very least these people should be fat if not chubby, instead of being extremely fit. It just seems to me like Bethesda gave this aspect of the game a half baked attitude. Doesn't sit well with me :/. What are your thoughts?

@scottym23, posted a few pics just for giggles and your enjoyment (not intended to offend anyone),

agree with you that there are no 'big' body types/size variants in the game which would reflect the actual world past/present.

all npc's basically look and have the same body size type depending on race; but, it doesn't bother me all that much.

also agree with you something like this was probably too much additional work for Bethesda to implement.

my guess is they needed to limit the range of body weight sliders in the game to maintain compatibility with gear.

please note, modders creating this sort of thing noted they needed to create custom skeletons/clothing and

constantly tweak meshes to avoid clipping issues with vanilla game gear/animations,

they also have a hard time maintaining compatibility with other body mods.

Without opening up potentially a can of worms, I'd echo the sentiment of xlcr and say that this is probably so because it would entail lots of extra work for Beth for a feature that... probs not a wide amount of people would be truly appreciative of.

I know that from the above pictures, that I am glad that they didn't go in that direction, though mainly this is because of the skimpy nature of the above pictures. I wouldn't mind at all if some of the Jarls or noblemen were "larger" as that totally would have been historically accurate for at least some folks back in the medieval era. Then again, this is Skyrim and not Cyrodiil, so maybe even Jarls are out there hunting and slaying and being outdoorsy just for their own amusement. In any case, I'd just ask that said folks wear more conservative nobleman clothes though. I think that skimpy + larger bodies definitely caters to a very select niche.

Having a bit more variation in body types would have been a neat feature though. And more types of clothing. Going back to Oblivion every now and then makes me seriously T_T at the paucity of clothing variants in Skyrim. And no pants. WTH.

TLDR; Probably not implemented because of a) extra work and b) low demand.
