BlademanXP
Yeah... so I'm creating new birthsigns for Oblivion. I got them to show up in game, but I want to change the image file. Every time I open the file location, I can't find the file. I know that I need to export the image, but I don't know how! Go ahead and say I'm stupid (cause I am) but give me some assisstance before I go crazy. :wallbash:
HouseAtlantic
BSA Commander can unpack the BSA of the Oblivion textures, they're not in your Data folder if you haven't done this yet. The texture width and height must be a power of 2, example: 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048, 4096. If that's the problem, but, you're better off loading up the image (Photoshop, GIMP, what have you..) and noting what size the image was. Different resolutions have different images packed inside the BSA, hence, menus 50 and menus 80, so it will take a bit of work even deciphering the right one for you to use..hope some of that helpsi'm not quite sure what you mean by export, save it as DDS format and generate Mip Maps and save as DXT 1 and 3 for transparent images.i can probably post an essay on mip mapping if needed, probably most of which I've learned from JDFan
BlademanXP
Okay. So I was a little vague now that I look at my first message. I am not trying to create new pictures. I am trying to swap the existing pictures. I cannot find the original birthsign images, and I think I need to export the images to BSA Commander to use them. Despite this, when I used your suggested program, I couldn't find the BSA files. I would just leave them be, but too many people would complain if "the devil" birthsign had "the lady" for an image. BlademanXP
Yeah, I kind of messed up the first time, but I found the files and opened them with the program you suggested. Thanks for recommending BSA commander. It works really well and I found everything I needed. :thanks:
