Thorand, Son of Noland, walked along a windswept road, his backpack rustling and clinking as his armor slid around at the very bottom of all his gear. His light, yet sturdy wooden shield swung from side to side over his backpack as he walked. He wore a simple light brown shirt, with the sleeves rolled up, darker brown trousers, and leather boots. His short, blonde hair flew to and fro in the wind, and his bright blue eyes studied the horizon. He wondered what that tower was on the distance. He figured he would ask this little shop he was approaching. He sped up a little, hearing a commotion coming from inside, and something along the lines of "A kitten?" He grabbed the hilt of the longsword strapped to his side and opened the door.

"What's going on here?" The sight of something violet and lizardlike stopped him in his tracks. His jaw dropped. "Is that a........"

Savantra watched the elf get back on her feet, and looked back out at the retreated old mystic. "You aren't uncomfortable by the idea of how much mass attention this will receive, elf?" She leaned back on the wooden frame of the door, looking at the small majestic purple beast.

"Why would I worry about something like that, when I myself draw attention?" She smiled and scooped Koralina up in her arms. "Now, I have a hungry dragon to feed, so come along if you'd like, but I can't stay here forever." She smiled at the person who opened the door, "I think you should all buy something... The shopkeep isn't making any money with you all standing around, you know." She laughed a little, a musical sound, and poked around at trinkets on some shelves, before settling on a small wooden carving of a dragon, finding it fitting.

Rafiki, having already paid 6 crowns for the egg, decided he had paid enough. "If dats all, miss. You should really come to de dwarf! He got a tavern, with all sortsa things like potions, and a blacksmith forge him built himself! Come on!" Rafiki exited the shop, and leaned on his staff, waiting for the elf lady.

Byron poured the newly prepared infusion into small bottles, and put them on the shelf, sealed and ready. He sits himself on a worn chair, and lights a pipe, and puffs it a few times.

An elf smiled at Thorand as he opened the door. He relaxed and took his hand off of his sword. He had plenty of gold from his service with the Varden.

"Hmm..... I think that the dragon could use some food, for later. What about a blanket? I'll buy a blanket for him or her." He never took his eyes off of the dragon. He grabbed 20 gold pieces from his pocket. He himself slept in a bedroll, or at inns along the road, so he didn't have a blanket. He felt a twinge of anxiety rise up within him. An elderly, dark-skinned shaman stood near him, along with an elf with a bat-like appearance. There were just as many Dragon Riders against the varden than there were with. He would keep his guard up, although he would be no match for the elf if she had false intentions.

Savantra sighed quietly at the sound of the elf's tinkling laugh. Her eyes caught the sight of a shiny bauble on a shelf near the doorway, and taking her advice, decided to add another pretty trinket to her collection of accessories.

This would look nice for tonight's social...

Paying the shopkeeper the coin, Savantra pocketed the bauble and followed the elf outside, with images of gold and uncovered secrets trickling through her mind. She brushed a tuft of red hair back into place with her finger, looking around outside, noting the prescence of another figure, a tall man who seemed rather battle-ready and travel-worn. Her eyes swept the scenery around them, her mind lost in thought. Very reminiscent of nature, the buildings around them were extravagantly carved and inscribed with all sorts of beautiful decor to her liking. With the aroma of coniferous and deciduous trees in the air, Savantra smiled. Today was going to be the beginning of something, but whatever it was meant to be, it was sure to keep her safebox nice and full.

The elf smild at Thorand, and answered "Sure, Why not?" to his offer to buy a blanket. He slid twenty gold pieces across a counter, hopefully enough to buy the blanket, and maybe a bit of food for the dragon.

Rafiki just walked towards the tower down the road. Pretty hard to miss, and he had a delivery to make, so his mind told him that he was needed there with the other pretty stone, egg was it? TO the dwarf that ran the place. He hurried into the shop, the chimes sounding as the door was pushed open. "Dwarven mon! I got de ting I promised you! Here is the stone for you!"

Byron turned to see the mystic man who popped in from time to time. "Ah thats great! Ah wondered when yeh'd come back! Noo, lets see this trinket ye said ye had!"

Rafiki hands the silver stone to Byron.

Ornthrond could feel himself in the hands of his rider. Right. Time to get out. He began pounding on the walls of his eggshell, trying to break himself out. Nope. Not working. He threw himself into the side, and cracks the side of the egg. The fluid he rested in started seeping out. He hit again and again, until he knocked his egg to the floor. He kicked and clawed until the egg cracked in half.

"What the hell! Is tha' a dragon?" Byron says curiously, reaching down to touch the little dragon. A huge rushing sensation hit him in the inside of the head, and he sits down on his chair. He didn't pass out, he had felt worse than this before. His mind felt strangely empty, or open.

The small silver dragon worked it's way out of the remains of the shell, and crawls slightly towards Byron, who scoops the dragon up. I am Ornthrond, and you are my rider.

Savantra looked around at the people milling by as slowly others noticed the prescence of a new Rider. She shifted her footing, not wanting other people to come and milk this situation just like the lad in the shop was. She sniffed, not enjoying that fact, but still confident that she'd come out on top of this brand new opportunity. She walked back to the door frame and peered at the tall man.

"You know, I can pay for that. You look like you'd need the gold for armor repairs or restocking your inventory."

She reached into her pocket and pulled out a handful of coin, almost roughly double the amount he had put out for the shopkeeper and placed it on the counter before him.

Errands and favors are key in making "friends".

She turned slightly at the tower outside the window, noting that that shaman-man had headed for the shop within it. Did he have another of those "stones" with him..?
