Assigning sounds in CS

I made a bunch of custom armor for my first mod, and now I'm trying to put it into a container (coffin) to insert it in a map. I'm trying to add open/close sounds for it, but the sound menu in the CS only has a few sounds- mostly footsteps and magic fx.

I'm pretty sure I have to extract sounds from the Oblivion sound file, but where do I extract them to to get them to show up in the CS?

EDIT: Duh. For some reason, I never checked the master file. Oh well, simplest solution is sometimes the obvious one, and obviously, I'm a moron.

All FX sounds must be Waves and must be extracted to Data\sound\fx\. The waves need to be a specific format to work. I believe its PCM 16bit mono, most hz and most kps seem to work.

In the editor you need to go down to sounds, best find a sound entry that does the same job as yours, change the formID and press ok, then when it says create a new form, just say yes.

Then edit the new form, adding your stuff to it but leaving the setting alone, unless you want to mess around to tweak it, its not hard but it is a lot of messing around that you may want to avoid.

Sound is in the CS misc tab under Loading Screens, everything you need is there. Once you add your sounds to that list, you will find them selectable for your new weapon too.

Btw you can use any free sounds online, you just need to convert them to the right format first using some sound editing program.

Good luck.
