CamouflageUK
Hi.. I have SKSE installed and I read/saw in a vid tutorial, that once installed, Skyrim must always be launched through SKSE. So that's what I've been doing. Now some confusion, for me anyway, has arisen because some mods have been randomly switching themselves off in the Data files load order, so how important is this load order now I'm using SKSE?I mostly use NMM to d/load and install, then run Boss to set my load order in NMM and then launch with SKSE so the Data files load order appears to be by-passed now. There are, at the moment 8 mods that get switched off, 4 subscriptions from the Workshop and 4 installed through NMM and it's those same 8 every time, but it doesn't appear to affect the NMM load order and they still appear to be working in game. So, again, as I launch through SKSE do I still need to be worrying about the Data files load order which now seems to be mostly redundant? Thanks in advance. sinnerman69
I use skse to launch my game, make a shortcut to skse loader on your desktop and use it to launch skyrim skse_loader - Shortcut is what should be on your desktop I have two icons on my desktop to do with skyrim, steam and skse_loader - Shortcut I manually install all mods and never use site installers Edited July 15, 2012 by sinnerman69

bben46
The in game 'data files' load order is often not the actual load order. The NMM plugins list will accept the BOSS load order and display it properly.Best is to just not open the in game 'data files' at all. After setting load order in BOSS, then making any minor load order adjustments in NMM, go straight into 'Play'. You can launch either from the NMM 'Launch SKSE' or your SKSE launcher icon. Once the load order is set, there is no reason to run BOSS or NMM again until you add or remove a mod from your game - just use the launch SKSE icon

cpengel1968
Thank you bben. So, I've been having exactly the same problem you described. Have you successfully solved it?
KingFrostman
I think it has to do with steam updating your workshop mods.
