asefasefasef
First off I just want to say I've searched the forums and other sites thoroughly for the past three hours and have found no working solutions, so I'm hoping someone here can help me. Basically everything was working fine until I decided to install the latest version of the Deadly Reflexes mod. I followed the instructions in the readme exactly. I've been playing the latest officially patched Oblivion with no Shivering Isles or other official expansion packs. Here is the process I went through: - Downloaded the latest OBSE and installed properly.- Installed the latest version of the Deadly Reflexes mod.- Changed the load order in Oblivion Mod Manager to have HorseCombatMaster.esm at the bottom of my esm files, DeadlyReflex - Combat Moves.esp to the VERY bottom, Mounted_Spellcasting Deadly Reflex Compatible.esp above it, and DeadlyReflex - Timed Block + Very High Damage.esp above that.- Made sure the .esp and .esm files were checked.- Started the game through OBSE_Loader.exe. It starts up fine.- Tried to load file. It starts loading but crashes between 1/4 and 1/2 through the process showing the Windows Error Report screen.- Loaded up the game again and attempted a new file only to get the same thing. At this point I figured it was just some incompatibility with another mod, though it seemed unlikely. So I decided I'd just start removing it to try to get it to work. - Unchecked the mods in Oblivion Mod Manager and tried starting the game up again in both OBSE_Loader.exe and the normal Oblivion.exe. Both give the same problems with crashing.- Unchecked every mod I have installed and tried again. Still crashes at game save loading screen.- Completely removed all of the Deadly Reflex mod files and left all mods unchecked. Tried loading in both obse and normal, but still crashes.- Removed obse completely and tried running Oblivion normally, but it still crashes. So basically I'm at a complete loss, since as far as I can tell I've reverted my settings back to what they were. Is there something I've missed to uninstall the mod? Is there anything else I should try to get the mod working (which I would prefer)? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
ianfreddie07
I experienced this before. A crash on a new game... it really pissed me off. May I see your load order? I think I have a solution to that.
Shadowcran
When it crashes, does it crash before you hit continue or you load up a saved game or after? if after, it could be that deadly reflex altered your saved game a tad. When this happens, it's usually caused by a new mod. Until a week ago when I realized what was occuring I'd go back and uninstall the mod I'd just placed and it would still do that until I used Wrye Bash to load up "different masters". I would then go to the saves and fix everything possible. Then I'd load the save and 99/100 it worked. It's only some mods that cause this occasionally. The mods are still good to use, but it's best to load up the new master into your bashed patch and then go to your saves and fix it into it. It isn't even that your save is corrupted even...more like "temporarily misaligned".

tyreil829
sounds daft but have you done a conflict detector and see what upsets deadly Reflex? Col John Sheppard
MrCooper2006
Easiest thing to do for a crash on Startup - Download FCOM Helper, if this doesnt work (Unlikely) then disable MODS one by one till it works
tyreil829
its odd by looking at the mod list order deadly reflex is where its needs to be + with the other mods it has the only thing i can think of is Do you have the latest OBSE or doing a conflict scan because i am sure one of mod effect deadly reflex or follow MrCoopers idea download FCOM Helper and let it sort out the order or take out smaller mods then work you way untill it works Col John Sheppard
asefasefasef
I know another mod isn't the problem. I completely reinstalled Oblivion, got all the latest stuff needed for this mod, then installed Deadly Reflex and still got the same problem. Crash as soon as I load a file.
