bluemarvin
So you know how when you buy your home in the game it comes empty, and you buy furniture from someone and then when you go back to the house the areas you bought are set up? I'd like to create this behavior for my custom player house. Has anyone figured out generally how this effect is accomplished? Meaning, the house is decorated in one way until things are bought, then gets updated according to what the player buys?
littleork
My guess is that those items are set as disabled and once you buy them, there is a script attach to the dialog that makes them enable themselves.
Rustle32
My guess is that those items are set as disabled and once you buy them, there is a script attach to the dialog that makes them enable themselves. That's right. If you open Breezehome in the CK, you will see all the elements, the empty home items and the bought items. Each item is parented to an xmarker which is controlled by the NPC's home furnishings script. If you don't see the xmarkers and the lines, press m to show markers. The markers themselves are located outside the loft (Housecarl's) bedroom. Except for one, all the xmarkers are paired into start and bought states. The one which is not paired, there are no items for the start state.
