TheP0PE
So I recently started playing New Vegas again to finish up the DLC, and I get to Freeside and wanted to make it into the strip, but found out everytime I try to get into the area with the entrance to the Strip, it crashes. So I did what I thought might help, and disable random mods - bad idea, because I forgot which ones I disabled and ended up enabling them ell. I'm attaching pictures of all my mods I have active right now - which causes a CTD on startup. If anyone has knowledge of these mod's compatibility with another, and can point me in the right direction, I would highly appreciate it. Sorry if it sounds like asking a whole lot, because I haven't dabbled in mods for months and can't really remember anything.
Plunkies
I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure electro city workorders needs to go after highways and byways. Other than that I'm not sure.
Cyberlazy
Get GPU-Z and take a look at your GPU memory usage after you CTD.if it was maxed out just before the crash, you need to lower video settings/use lower res texture packs/less weapon packs. Also try Modfusion. It will tell you any mods that require missing masters (Most common cause of CTD on startup) Edited July 20, 2012 by Cyberlazy
Cynthetic
with the memory problems.. u can use FNV4GB to increase the usage of ram on 64bit systems. if u using FNVSE u will need this version with FNV4GB compatibly ->http://nvse.silverlock.org/beta/fnv4gb_nvse.zip (from http://nvse.silverlock.org/) but i think.. the game is broken... u don´t have CTD on another locations, so maybe one or more of the mods may bugged or messing up with another mods. my tip ; disable all non really needed mods and test it one by one to locate the problem. or cleanup the installation and then activat one by one after testing in freeside. beginn with the "project freeside" ;)
Cyberlazy
Video memory is seperate from what 4GB patch deals with. But yes, the 4GB patch is basicly needed. Seems to make FONV a lot more stable anyway.
Cynthetic
oh sry u mean the gpu mem...my fault. there is another tip to reduce CTD. u need to edit the ini. edit all 3 ini´s serch this line "bUseThreadedAI=0" change it to "bUseThreadedAI=1" and add the line "iNumHWThreads=2" after "bUseThreadedAI=1". this have helping me a lot to reduce random CTD on loadscreens (means fastravel/enter building) bUseThreadedAI=1 - enabled multicore usage. iNumHWThreads=2 - number of mutlicore usage. 2 core always more as enough fnv don´t need more core´s this tweaks is just to reduce CTD. is it still crashing change it to 1 i have an old intel core2 quad and FNV have trouble with some multicore setups. u can also edit the ramusage and gpu mem usage in the inis, but this is very experience and need basicaly knowledge.
