I have over 200 hours on skyrim and have always used the same PC while playing. I added some mods yesterday, and it was running fine. When I went to play today, It started crashing about every 15 minutes, then about every 5 minutes. I thought it was the mods so I deleted every single one, it still crashed. So then I restored my PC to 7/01/2012 thinking maybe I had a bad file somewhere. Ive completely uninstalled Skyrim and re-installed it, I have no mods what so ever and now it crashes in less than 5 minutes every time. I have no idea what is going on? Like I said, This is the only computer Ive played over 200 hours on, so I dont know why Im having a problem now. Is it possible the disc got corrupted? Please help if you can, Im becoming very frustrated.....

Have you tried an older save or a new game?

A lot of mod information can get stored in your save game file which can cause problems if the mod is no longer present or if the mod conflicts/screws up. If a new game causes problems then double check to ensure you really don't have any mods left lying around. If you want to re-instate all your previous mods to work with a particular save game, then use the 'savegamescanner' tool which will list the mods required.

I did try an older save, and its working fine now. I really wish I would have thought of that before I deleted everything. I had a lot of nice weapons/armor stored in a modded castle (dragon lord castle) but now that I deleted it, I lost all my stuff. Im going to try downloading the castle again, but not sure if my stuff will still be there. It was there in my older saves, so Im not sure how that works. The latest mod I downloaded before It started crashing was the (categorized favorites menu) mod. Is it possible for that mod to make my game crash like that? That would be a bummer because I really like it.
