Adipose
I don't mod. Having said that, regarding male presets, I've not seen any that are any better than those I can create for myself using a couple of scarification mods and the SOS body mod. By better, I'm not writing about the skill of various preset makers, most of whom may well be more adept that yours truly. What I'm referring to is appearance. Using the vanilla character creation files, two scarification mods, the SOS hairy body mod, a couple of Apachii hair mods, the full bald mod, body slide, and a half-hour of my life, I can create a male character that is quite satisfactory. Now, there are lots of really great female character presets, however, I don't run as a female...ever. It's just not me, so those are irrelevant afaic. Now, for those who're good with the Creation Kit, I'm pretty sure that some truly skilled modder can come up with character mods that would create green envy in my thought processes. I'd love to be able to create characters and npcs that are amputees, have hooks in place of hands, missing ears or have notched ears, missing fingers, missing teeth or cavity ridden teeth, need a crutch to get around, have wooden legs, etc. etc. etc. It can be done. There is at least one female follower npc that has a wooden leg. Don't have a clue as to how it was done, but she exists. There are some very promising Argonian and Khajiit racial mods, however, for some reason they tend not to play nice on my comp. They also don't seem to integrate well with the vanilla base game. Probably due to programming limitations. Having said that, there're several very satisfactory hybrid standalone racial npcs, however, my guess is that their integration into the game is, again, limited by vanilla programming. When I say integration, I'm thinking of dialogue responses by various npcs, etc. Race doesn't make much difference if the creation is ignored by the game. Of course, the real skill lies with Bethesda designers and any outsourced employees they brought in to create TES and the Creation Kit. At least, afaIk, the CK was provided by Bethesda. Anyway, kudos to Bethesda and the modders whose work I use to create my characters and change my Skyrim to suit me. A hearty WELL DONE to all of you.
