Prone?

This would be really cool.. The only hard part would be the third person animations. In first person you could just force the low ground angle, reduce spread, drop speed, fortify sneak. I could do all of it, but would need someone to do the third person animation.

sure would be cool ,but you think that is possible to make npcs ( ncr , brotherhood and "pros") use prone during gunfights ?

I dont see why not, I don't have any experience with animations, but from what I understand it can be applied to any npc. It may cause clipping issues with the terrain and some armors, but if the animations made it should work easy enough.

 

Alternately I could just rig it so that third person would be disabled while prone, then the prone would be super easy to simulate. But no other npcs could use it.

 

I have a few ideas how to force the perspective, but any other ideas would help. I'm thinking something like when the player holds ctrl, they go into sneak, and either reduce the players scale, or force the players Z position, though I don't know if that would place the player in the terrain, and either drop him through or keep him from moving. I think the set scale would work better, but haven't ever really messed with it and don't know if it cause a crazy change to how the world looks. Will be playing with this tonight.

Played with it for a bit, got it to where the players perspective is low, and sneak is boosted, could only move at walking speed, disabled third person and reduced weapom spread.. but game crashes when getting up sometimes, moving sometimes makes you fall through terrain, and the player holds gun too high above ground. Trying to work out these kinks when I can, but real life takes up a lot of time.

Played with it for a bit, got it to where the players perspective is low, and sneak is boosted, could only move at walking speed, disabled third person and reduced weapom spread.. but game crashes when getting up sometimes, moving sometimes makes you fall through terrain, and the player holds gun too high above ground. Trying to work out these kinks when I can, but real life takes up a lot of time.

 

Darn really life, ruins all the fun.

Thanks for attempting this, even without 3rd person it'd be great, the whole point was for sniping, and I use 1st for sniping anyway.
