tehdman
I reinstalled New Vegas last night and got a file started before I got to modding the crap out of it. After I downloaded a bunch of mods I wanted (And made a few of my own) I went to start New Vegas up and it crashed right on the first screen. I know this happens a lot so I rearranged my load order and tried again and it crashed anyway. I sighed and started uninstalling mods I thought were causing problems and eventually I was only down to a handful of mods that just changed some item stats around and it was still crashing. After uninstalling those, uninstalling the DLC and validating my game files AND reinstalling New Vegas twice, the game is still not working at all. What the hell did I do to my game? I don't even have the mod manager or NVSE installed at this point. It's completely 100% vanilla! I'm so confused... :(
thedude05
I had a similar problem last time I reinstalled, I managed to fix it by uninstalling, then running a defrag on my hardrive, using a registry cleaner and finally reinstalling. I don't know if it would work for you as your problem might be something else, but if you are willing its worth a try and helps your PC as well. Also you might want to take it easy when installing mods, install em one by one, nice n' easy, run the game after every install and make sure it runs fine, use FNVEdit for conflict busting and making sure everything runs well and when you're finally done grab BOSS and run it (also create a merged patch if need be). Oh and don't forget to use NVSE.
PowderdToastMan
You've probably installed a mod that edited your ini files. Go to your documents/mygames/falloutnv directory and remove all the ini files. When you start a new vanilla game it will detect theyre absence and generate two new vanilla ones by copying them out of your vanilla new vegas folder. If that doesnt work, post further what happens...

Well I use Auslogics BoostSpeed, which is actually a bunch of optimization programs in one, it costs money but you can get the included registry cleaner separately for free on their website though. Meta1axe
This has been happening to me too, and with Fallout 3 as well. It happened straight after I updated my graphics card to GTX 560, may I ask what card yours is? As the similarities here are uncanny.Only just brought and installed fallout 3 as well. -_-Also does it crash at the end of the loading screen? Because mine does.I'm sorry I can't be of any help as I'm desperately scouring the internet myself, but if I do find anything that works I'll tell you.
