Spinner385
More specifically which actor/object should I be applying scripts to so that they affect the player?
McclaudEagle
The base ID for the player is 'Player'.
Spinner385
Thnx for the reply What I'm trying to find out is what is the object in the creation kit. Not what to refer to in the scripts/console. You can apply a script to a spell or an NPC that has the player in the script. But how do I apply a script to the player. There is no player under actors in the CK. (As far as I know)
David Brasher
Look in the CK once more. You should see an actor who is named "Player." This is the character with the rags and no money and the healing and flames spells.

steve40
I find that the safest way (compatibility-wise) to attach a script to the player is to create a new quest, then make a quest alias that is assigned to Cell "any cell", referenceID "PlayerRef (#000014)" iirc. Then add the script to this alias. Otherwise, if another mod was to also attach a script directly to the player ref, the last mod in the load order would win.
