555metalhead
So I have a bunch of mods for Skyrim and was playing the game. It proceeded to crash to desktop in-game. I assumed some mods were in conflict so I deactivated a lot of them. Most of them in fact. The game still proceeded to CTD. I reactivated the mods and clicked "Yes to all" for every one. I then tried to launch Skyrim and the steam_api.dll file was missing. I downloaded the file and extracted it back to its rightful place. Voila, Skyrim was launching again. I then went back in to my autosave file and it was still crashing at almost the same time every time. (About 2 minutes of gameplay in.) I assumed that there might be something wrong with the autosave and loaded my manual save which was about ten minutes before the autosave I was loading. It ran until I got to the place after my autosave where it had been CTD before. I then went into my broters file to see if his would CTD. He played it for four hours with all the same mods on and had no problems. I keep thinking my file is corrupt. But if it is, why am I able to load it? Pls halp me. Thank you in advance for reading this much and helping in any way you can. I truly appreciate it.
Werne
I keep thinking my file is corrupt. It is, load an earlier save or start a new game. Deactivate autosaves and always create a new save, never overwrite an old one.
