So Many Engines

If one would choose to create/design (et cetera) a game with a similar play style and mechanic as the recent release 'Dear Esther' by 'thechineseroom' which creation engine* would be the most effective and efficient?

 

This style I describe is the walking pace, the lack of any UI or game 'interactivity' on a concious level. Those who have played the game will understand exactly what I mean and will be, perchance, better at explaining.

 

*Readily available kits such as: 'GECK'; 'The Creation Kit'; Unreal Development Kit (UDK); CryEngine 3; et cetera.
