Esbern's Dragon Research, I finished his quest and it's still

This quest is no longer broken as of patch 1.6 - if running version 1.5 or earlier read the bugs section for pre-1.6 bug description and solutions.

 

Speak with Esbern.

Acquire a Dragon Bone and Dragon Scale.

Return to Esbern.

(broken) Drink the potion.

Speak with Esbern once more to complete the quest.

 

I did all this and the quest shows to still give Esbern the dragon scale in bones and wouldn't leave my misc menu

 

I tried these in game console too

 

ResetQuest FreeFormSkyHavenTempleD

SetStage FreeFormSkyHavenTempleD 10

player.addspell 000F5FFA

SetObjectiveCompleted FreeFormSkyHavenTempleD 10 1

 

tried second

 

player.setstage FreeformSkyHavenTempleD 100

 

neither worked and my misc menu still has the quest and Esbern dialog has nothing in it to do with that quest anymore

I didn't realize 1.6 fixed that quest bug (yay I guess), but apparently not the stubborn journal entry as I have the same thing. Along with a stranded "Bring Frost Salts to Dravynea" and a bunch of "Collect Bounty from Skald" and "Collect Bounty from Brina Merillis"'s.

 

I think the unoffical skyrim patch may fix this, but it's just an annoyance I live with.

There are three unoffical skyrim patch's one here and two at dark creations site but I noticed the third choice has since disappeared from dark creations site, so it's a bit confusing as to which to use, I have all three downloaded, but not installed!..

 

this is the one that disappeared "Unofficial Skyrim Patch 105b - BSA Version"

 

I'll try patch Unofficial Skyrim Patch 105c and see if it helps, it's from dark creations site
