BRSullivan86
Hey. I recently tried upscaling the gradients folder textures with the hope of improving the lighting clarity in SSE. While there's what I consider a noticeable improvement overall, the goal of sharper lighting has been met, there are issues. A certain waterfall mist will phase in and out, and some magic effects don't display properly, etc. While individual problematic textures could be removed, it raises the question of whether somehting is wrong on the fundamental level of this attempt. Nearly every texture format I have available has been tested and at different resolutions, including vanilla, with the same results. It's like these textures don't like to be touched, but I want to be sure. I haven't been able to find much information on these textures specifically on Google, so I was wondering if anyone here had any experience modifying these textures and if they had any advice as to how an increase in resolution might affect the game in ways that might not be immediately apparent. Thanks for your time, and sorry to make you think on a weekend (time zone permitting).
jfresh401
most gradients are used for the spell effects like trails, beam lighting etc. i made a mod with white fireballs that uses them.
