Handmade Rifle that uses .45 ammo

You can do this with FO4Edit fairly easily, just change the ammo type for the weapon. There are lots of good videos on youtube for this sorta thing. The other option is to look on the nexus and search for the words ammo and caliber. There are probably 2 dozen different mods that allow for the modification of how to make, customize and change ammo. I sure one of those will give you what you are looking for.

 

Another option, try one of the AK47 mods on the nexus and use it instead of the handmade rifle. Common guys get the handmade rifle, buy you have repaired and upgraded yours (you badass you!) to its original quality and now have a real AK47 in hand which offers tons more customization options! I think i'm personally using the AK74 (yes, i spelled that right) mod as a replacer and it offers 7.62 as the default ammo, or at least as a swap option in the work bench.
