ketara00
I'm hoping someone on here with more tech skills will be able to help me diagnose the problem I'm having. Put in a nutshell, one of my graphics mods is converting the wasteland to winter. I thought it might be the Vivid All in one; so I uninstalled it. No luck, my save files are still a frosty white. I started a new game just to be sure, but nope. All new saves are covered in thick white snow. Since I couldn't figure out what mod might possibly be causing this (I really don't have many graphic mods installed), I tried installing something over it; namely the 4 seasons mod. I enabled springtime, booted up a game, and I'm still in winter wonderland. Tried a new game, same again. Some of the trees changed colour to a more 'spring' like setting, but the ground is still white and frozen.Whatever's enabling this effect is overriding the 4 seasons mod. So my question is this; how to hell do I diagnose what's doing this? I honestly can't think of another single mod which should have this effect which I've installed. I don't want to uninstall, boot, and reinstall every mod (I have quite a few), it'll take me all day. Especially given most of them are things like '4K nuka cola machine' and 'west tek optics' which would clearly have no effect. Even the bigger ones, like sim settlements or true storms should have no effect to produce this.
Deleted49413338User
It would be because the srping mod doesn't touch those ground textures, or they are loose files, not BA2's Loose files always get priority. There is not a huge amount of winter mods, looking at your load order, it should be easy to find. Search "winter" and look for something you might have downloaded if looking at load order doesn't help. Frost Survival Simulator replaces a lot of these ground type textures and its all loose files. You can delete the folder for textures\landscape I think without breaking the mod, If you like the overhaul but prefer green flora. Also, don't forget mods you might have downloaded from the in-game bethesda mod browser.
ketara00
That's an interesting remark about Frost actually. I had Frost installed on my last playthrough; however I completely uninstalled/reinstalled the game and moved from Nexus Mod Manager to Vortex. Is it possible that somehow there's still files from Frost leftover and buggering up my graphics? I've been through my mods list, and I genuinely cannot see anything else that would seem to even hint at adding snow to my game. For example, I have:- -Unofficial Fallout Patch-FAR (the one that renders stuff a long way away)-Robot Home Defence-ArmorKeywords-HUD Framework-Sim Settlements 3 in 1-True Storms-Workshop Framework-Increased Settlers-World Flags-About 3 sim settlements add on packs- Additional Robot voices-Enhanced Blood-Homemaker-Laundry Day-Radspiders-Armorsmith extended-Dogmeat armor-155mm howitzer-visible companion affinity-WET-icebreaker -Settler dialogue overhaul-TrueGrass-Valius HD textures-Better Diamond City guards-Enough about settlements Preston-Loot overhaul-Mechanist Lair Overhaul-Functional Displays-Rich Merchants-Docile Radstags-Beantown Interiors-Subway Runner-Atomic Radio & Tales from the Commonwealth#-Cannibal-South of the Sea-BetterbostonAirport-Aquatic animals-Super mutant redux-Eli's faction housing overhaul-urban Food expanded-Outcasts and Remnants-Interiors expanded-Salem expanded-Combat zone restored-True Legendary Enemies-Raider Overhaul-Altairps animal farm & brahmin milk-The code-Eli's armour compendium-Physical Unlocks-Fort Hagen expanded-Reverb and Ambience overhaul-Nest Bunkers-Vivid weathers and all in one-Vehicle overhaul-Nick Romance-Public Occurrences expanded-Swinging Meatbags-Synth overhaul-We are the Minutemen That's about a third of them, but you get the drift. Nothing even remotely snow related. Other than Vivid, it's all individual texture related at best for the most part. ketara00
That was a top tip Oynlen! I dug around and found a leftover folder from FROST which was responsible. I deleted it, and the game is back to the way it should be! For anyone else who ends up in this situation, you go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\Textures and then delete the folder called 'Landscapes'. Luverly jubberly!
