Khajiit has no additional bonuses to unarmed ingame

Hello! From my title I assume you can tell what my problem is. Now, a little info on how I concluded this is indeed the problem. I had one save where I was about 1/4 through the game and he was doing little to no damage, so I installed a few unarmed mods and made a new save.
Everything was fine until I reloaded a quicksave on my new Khajiit. That Khajiit started doing no damage with his fists after I reloaded, and after that I confirmed on both with [player.getav unarmeddamage] that they were not receiving the racial claw bonus and I cannot tell if this was because of a mod or not. I turned them all off in the loader and it still did nothing different as I'm sure whatever got changed is changed for good.

I basically have solved this myself but I just want to the game to feel natural. I did [player.modav unarmeddamage] and changed it ball park range on what it would be [32 damage... very ridiculous at the beginning of the game, but this is also with gloves from one of my mods that give me 10+ damage] and now I am hilariously overpowered with my fists and the beginning of the game is just not a challenge and I would just like the flow to feel more natural as I mentioned before.

I am using both the latest version of SKSE, Vortex, and everything else to my knowledge as I did this all fresh.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim is where my skyrim folder is located.
NO DLCS, Just OG Skyrim.
