Morrowind Merge Plugins

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Has anyone been successfully using Merge Plugins with Morrowind ?

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/69905?tab=posts

I'm rather close to the limit (247 atm) and I'm quite sure I'll need some kind of utility to merge some of my esps at some point. I am familiar with merge plugins above, but not so much will older utilities (the cs, enhanced editor, etc.).

I've been looking everywhere this pas couple of days, but I've yet to find anything regarding all this. Any advice is much appreciated.

Thank you for your time!

best merger is still the construction set "combine loaded plugins" option, just remember to clean the resulting merged .esp with testool and tes3cmd clean

Thanks for the insight abot, in a way I was afraid of that answer, but it's good that I know where to start at least. I believe it's due time I familiarize myself with some of these utilities. Good ol' Morrowind, it's always been a rough love between us. Anyway, I have found a tutorial of sorts and I'll post it here just in care anyone else lands in my shoes in the future. It's a rather old one, but by the looks of it, it's still helpful.

Merging mods with the Construction Set:

Always back up your .esp files first, just in case.

1. Run the Construction Set.

2. On the file menu, choose Data Files.

3. On the Data File screen, double click on all the master files (Morrowind, Tribunal, Bloodmoon) you have so there's an 'X' in the box next to them.

4. If you have any mods that use master (.esm) files, do NOT select those. Just select the masters that are from the game and the expansions.

5. Double click on the .esp files you want to merge together. If you have a lot, just do a few at a time.

6. Make sure you have an 'X' next to all the master files and the .esp files you want to merge.

7. You don't need to select an Active file, unless you want a particular .esp to override the others in case of conflicts. (The Active .esp file will load last, so any changes in that will override .esp files that are loaded earlier.

8. Now click the OK button to load everything into the Construction Set. If see a prompt about setting an Active file, just click yes to continue (unless you want an .esp file to be Active, as mentioned in #7.)

Loading the files will take a bit; be patient.

9. If you have both Tribunal and Bloodmoon, you'll probably see a lot of error messages, mostly about dialogue. This is normal (though annoying); just click past them. (If you have 'Yes to all' enabled in your morrowind.ini file, you'll have a 'Cancel' button that will get you past the error messages.)

10. Once the master files and mods are loaded, go back to the Files menu and choose the 'Combine Loaded Plugins' option.

12. Say 'Yes' to the prompt, pick a new file name for the merged plugin, and save it.

13. Close the Constructin Set and test the mod in the game.

When you use the merged plugin in the game, make sure you check only the merged plugin, not the original plugins that it includes. (Double click the original mods to deselect them.)

Note:

Add the following on a line by itself to the 'General' section of your morrowind.ini file to let you get past multiple error messages faster:

AllowYesToAll=1

It's a good idea to backup the .ini file first (just copy and paste in the same directory), especially if you're new to editing .ini files.

if you want to merge them, you must NOT set any .esp as active
