Malchik
Ah the policy of double standards. "Don't do what I do, do what I say!" IOW Bullying. That's what the Republican party stands for, isn't it? Freedom is enshrined in the US constitution but only their definition of 'freedom'! IMO America gets less and less 'free' every year. When is the law coming in that bans farting in a public place? Or have I missed it already?

Shakkara
These ones are indeed very cool, might even look good in a signature... Quote 12. Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy. Providing health care to all Americans is socialism. 13. Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk science, but creationism should be taught in schools. 14. Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him and a bad guy when Bush needed a "We can't find Bin Laden" diversion. No I don't like the US at all, like the others I have nothing against the people, unless they go on defending what the US does with the "might makes right" bollocks or the "STFU or we nuke you" crap. And I don't like the ones that do not even know some basic things such as geography either.
Iluventi
loveme4whoiam said: Indeed. I am, admitedly, one the most anti-american people i know (with the exception of you fine people and the makers of The Simpsons of course), and this i find to be true for not just the US, but the world in general. I just finished watching a poll on the best british sitcom ever made (i'm getting to a point here, bear with me; BTW for those who watched the program, the good life, fawlty towers and blackadder should have made up the top 3!) and one of the programs features was Yes Minister. For those who don't know what it was about, it was based around one minister in the British civil service, and it made just about every point Breton made above, but in a slightly more upper-class way. Just to show that politics is universally stupid, and does not only apply to the USA. Yes Minister was Classic (as was Fawlty Towers and Black Adder)I also liked Yes Prime Minister... very satirical
wesaynothin
'Thats My Bush', a short lived sitcom on Comedy Central, pretty wraps up everything American Repulicanism stands for.
Malchik
Now a little bird tells me that a Mister Richard Clarke has just applied the steel toe cap of his boots to kick GWB in a painful place? Slightly off topic maybe but germane to the Republican image I feel. How painful was it for Mr B?
Marxist ßastard
Not very. To my knowledge, Bush is denying everything and everyone else involved is declining comment in any setting that obligates them to tell the truth.
Ancalagon
Oh, heavens yes. Did you notice all the attacks the entire White House made against Mr. Clarke's character? It's easier to discredit the character of a person than it is to discredit the argument or problems that person is charging... I was so surprised at the way the Administrational Staff was so quick to deny everything Clarke said and state that he is out only for attention, money, and to try and help the Kerry campaign. As of now, Kerry has said nil on Clarke so as to distance himself from any possible or misconcieved association with Clarke. Ahhhhh...politics. :P
