How To Merge Plugins with MO2

I've been looking around online on how to go about merging plugins on Skyrim SE with mod organizer 2(MO2). I use to just install mods with Nexus mod manager and then use Wrye bash to merge mods into a bash patch. But I recently switched to MO2 and the way MO2 installs mods makes it impossible to use Wrye bash to merge them. And I plan on installing a lot of mods and with patches I know it'll go well past the limit. So I need to know if there is a way to merge mods with MO2 or am I going to have to install some mods through NMM and then just put them into a bash patch?

Gamerpoet says Bashed Patch and Mod Mergering are two differnt things, and to create space for more plugins you must merge plugins. BUT there's no recent video on how to, the only ones are years old and lots has chaned since then. Will the Merge Plugins mod only avail on Skyrim LE work for SE? ugh

Well i've never been able to get merge plugins to work so that's why i use wrye bash. But now with the newest version of wrye bash making a bash patch no longer seem to automatically uncheck the plugins. So I guess you can't use wyre bash to do that anymore. And the were nice enough to get rid of all older versions of wrye bash so I can't revert to a version that let me do that. And I still can't get merge plugins to work properly no mater how many tutorials I watch. The program just doesn't seem to work the same for me. So idk what else to do anymore other than drastically cut out a bunch of mods and avoid any mod that requires lots of patches.

Have you heard or even tried zMerge? / zedit.

A Mator tools set available on discord.

It works.

No I haven't I just checked it out. It seems to be a lot simpler to use than merge plugins. I used it to merge a couple plugins and seems to have worked fine. Thanks I'd recommend other people check it out.

Zmerge doesn't work for me anymore with latest release. I'm switching back to Mator's old software merged plugins through mo2. Already reported the error I was having with Zedit aka Zmerge on GitHub bugs section turns out other people had the same problem so I just commented on there with my logs as proof to.

If you are merging mods that use archives? then no, it will not work.

If you are merging mods before repairing said mods then no it will not work.

If you are using mods that must use scrip extender ? then NO it will not work.

I use ver 64 not 65, the 65 zmerge is meant mainly for a later engine "skyrim" and not other games.

zmerge 64 only works on Fallout 3 and fallout new Vegas / ... if you have repaired any and all mods proper to merging and they MUST BE in the correct load order for what ever game is used.

The older versions works too but ! can not handle UI mods at all.

So choose the correct things / tools that meet the needs.

Please don't spread misinformation because you don't understand what's required.

---------------------------------

A small tut for you.

  1. Use the correct load order and verify IN Game that order works correctly.
  2. Verify there are zero errors contained within each mod Period.
  3. IF there are errors "Other than" Unknown" Fix then.
  4. IF there are Duplicates entries, repair them first.
  5. Any Unnecessary edits in a mod such as deleted content? Do not attempt to merge those types of files.
  6. IF the mod was NOT made in the geck ? for get it, they will only break the game.
  7. IF a succefful merge completes but does not run? set it to master to check if it runs that way, if it now operates, flip the master flag back off and load and save in the GECK / kits" Do NOT edit a merged mod once merged. You've been warned.
  8. Some mods will not work in any formatted tools.

Now, if you do not understand any of this? I am here to help you "UNDERSTAND".

The only way any one will get any help about this subject is IF they submit a saved game with the mods intended to merge.

Not a list

Not a load order.

A saved game that worked. Those are the terms. No saved game file showing the intended mods? no help will come.
