ksense
So bassically im using a lot of mods and whenever the RAM usage gets to about 2gb (or 2097152 kb), the game crashes. Update 1.3 was supposed to have the LAA but i think its not an issue of being able to use 4gb RAM but rather the engine auto crashing when trying to reach for more than 2gb RAM. Am I wrong? Is there a fix (preferably before dawnguard comes out)? I use SKSE loader and I have 8gb of RAM on Windows 7 x64 Plz help!!!!
J3X
Are you sure that your memory sticks are not corrupt? Try run memtest on them
ksense
Are you sure that your memory sticks are not corrupt? Try run memtest on them All of my memory shows up in windows manager and all other programs + I can run other games over 2gb RAM fine so I'm fairly sure this is skyrim exclusive. Spinner385
If it were me I would first make sure I didn't have any of the old mods/tweaks that allowed for greater than 2GB ram. If that doesn't work maybe a fresh install. - Uninstall skyrim then delete its folder (steam/steamapps/common)- Backup save files (mydocuments/my game/skyrim/saves)- NMM should save mods (I went ahead and uninstalled to start fresh. Mods save under C:/games I believe)- Re-install Skyrim then SKSE Doing that right now because I had some critical problems, looks like it will take an hour or so (unless I have to download updates too). If that does't work it has to be a RAM problem.

Skyrim exe is already flagged to use more than 2gb, but engine is just too crappy to do so as well as it's too crappy to at least use 2gb effectively. It wasn't designed for neither of above. What else you can expect from fully scripted engine. Bethesda programmers are morons. Edited February 17, 2013 by maximluppov
