Fix: Cannot start new game

Whenever I tried to start a New game, the game would crash. I finally got this game to work after three days of searching around, and almost gave up.

 

Here is the fix:

-Download "Intel HD Graphics Bypass package"

-Extract and put the "d3d9.dll" file into the same directory as Fallout.exe.

 

If the game crashes or freezes during play

-In C:\Users\Admin\My Documents\My Games\Fallout 3\, open up the file "FALLOUT.INI",

edit this line: bUseThreadedAI=0

so that it becomes this: bUseThreadedAI=1

and add this line right under it: iNumHWThreads=2

If game still crashes, change "iNumHWThreads=2" to "iNumHWThreads=1"

 

 

These fixes allow me to run Fallout 3 under:

-Laptop PC, Windows 7 64-bit, Intel Core i5, 6 GB RAM, Geforce GT 540M graphics card
