Your Top Five Immersive Mods?

(1) Auto-unequip Arrows - This is one of those mods where the effect is tiny, but because it's constant, the cumulative effect is enormous. When you switch from a bow to a weapon, this mod removes the quiver from your back, and replaces it when you draw your bow. This mod is immersive, but in the cinematic sense of not constantly reminding you of a niggling detail which highlights that you're in a game rather than watching a tightly-scripted movie.

(2) Better Dynamic Snow - I can't play Skyrim without this. There's just so much snow and everywhere, and it all looks like someone just dumped white primer over a bunch of polygons. The first time I started wandering around the ice fields north of Winterhold after installing this mod, my eyes bugged out, cartoon-like.

(3) Cloaks of Skyrim - Having used Cloaks, now I can't imagine playing without them. Everyone in Skyrim looks naked and half-rendered without them. They're done so well that I find myself switching to third person and running overland instead of fast-travelling, just for the pleasure of watching my cloak flutter behind me exactly the same way they did when Legolas, Gimli, and Aragorn were chasing the kidnapped hobbits.

(4) Realistic Ragdolls and Force - As others have indicated, watching NPCs arcing like Wile E. Coyote every time I hit them with a sword is amusing the first few times, then just annoying.

(5) WATER - What Better Dynamic Snow does for snow, WATER does for water. Because there's not as much water as there is snow and ice, the effect isn't quite as startling, but I'd still find it hard to play without it.

And an honourable mention to The Dance of Death. Even though watching killmoves has caused my death more than a few times in the heat of battle, it's just so much fun that I can't bring myself to turn them off. I find myself buying combat perks I don't really need just so I can see more killmoves because of this mod.

how did I forget WATER and Realistic Ragdolls?

a big plus one on those.

Glorious Grasses is great when used with Floral Overhaul and Lush Grass but I am going to wait until the weather here is a bit cooler before using it again as my GTX480 gets rather warm near Riften and then Skyrim stops :(

I love the Alternate Start - Live Another Life mod. It has really opened-up the game for me.

Also the Flora and grass mods mentioned above, as well as Climates of Tamriel (V good!)

Props to Duel - Combat Realism and Crimson Tide also, along with the complete crafting Overhaul and associated mods.
