ZephyrFive
Charles CarsenCaucasian/Anglican;Male27 years/Born Ninth of FebruaryBorn in Southampton to a kind, but drunken London man and a nice Welsh woman. His mother watched him constantly, and always wore a black dress. His father worked during the morning, giving them a hefty income, played with his son during midday, drank during the night, and slept when he had too much. He always wore a formal suit. Clean shirt, red vest, black tie, single-breasted, notch-lapeled coat, and slacks. He even required a monocle at one time, but opted out for a Cyberprosthetic eye - a basic, but still groundbreaking achievement of man. Charles' father never let his mother spoil him, claiming that even a gentleman must be hardened ever so slightly. When he turned twelve, Charles was sent to bootcamp for the Summer, and was advised not to back down from a fight, with Charles' father even going as far as to pay off the camp masters not to interfere or punish. Charles came back hardened, thankful to his father, and bruised, but fulfilled. He had enjoyed his time, no less, and had set his sights on the military. On the Eigth of March, when Charles was 16, his father had been killed at a pub, after attempting to save the occupants during a raid by a group of organized criminals. He slid behind the bar and grabbed the shotgun, telling the occupants to evacuate. He managed to take out four of the criminals, but was eventually shot in the shoulder, and then executed by the crime boss. Since then, Charles had harbored a deep hatred for organized crime. His mother always wore funeral clothes. Charles was 18 and doing his first year of his medical degree when she committed suicide. Charles was once affiliated with the Royal Marines of Great Britain from ages 18 (postponing his second year of college) to 24, and served as a Medic and Marksman, even having had escorted the King and Queen at the age of 23 for an entire month He was able to prevent an assassination by the South Irish Northern Liberation Effort, earning himself a Royal Victorian Order and Knighthood. Before that, he had been a combatant in two British conflicts, one involving a North Irish riot, and another having to do with a military depot captured by an organized group of criminals in Machynlleth, Wales. He had killed thirteen rebels in Ireland, and took out a tank crew and assisted the effort to take out the head in Machynlleth. Also, in the Machynlleth Incident, Charles helped capture seven arms trucks, two APCs, and four LAVs. After the SINLE attempt and aversion, Charles was stationed with some old friends near Lettermore, Northern Ireland, to watch the border, and for survival training. One of his squadmates came down with Pneumonia, so he set out to look for dry wood. It had rained hard the day before, and it was still drizzling. He found a large, dry tree and hacked at it with his field ax. He was a bit delirious from lack of sleep (he had nearly lost his need to sleep, after three years of steadily declining sleep cycles) and didn't notice the tree come down towards him. It took him down and severed his right forearm, breaking his radius and ripping out his ulna (the over hand and under hand bones, respectively). He began steadily losing blood and called for his squad to assist him. Three of his six squadmates left to help him, and upon finding him, were ordered (by Charles) to help him carry the wood back. He used his left arm to help. When they returned to the small depression in the rock they'd set up in, the squad's other Medic immediately swayed his attention to the more severe ailment in the squad. Charles was fitted with a tourniquet, a field bandage, and a morphine field drip. Charles woke up three days later and calmly looked at his arm. Shortly after, his fellow Medic gave him the news. They hadn't recovered his arm, though they'd searched for it continuously. He suggested Advanced Cyberprosthesis, which was a newly perfected process, and a very underground process. Many civilians and military doctors like Charles didn't know of the advancement, which frustrated him. He loved the military, so when he took his funds from service and participated in a Cyberprosthesis experiment, he requested a gun in place of his wrist and forearm. At the time, the only armaments they had for Military Cyberprosthesis were Adapted Light Machine Guns, like an adapted SAW, an adapted Minimi, and adapted SAR; as well as wrist pistols, and arm rifles, but the best they had, was an experimental HMG replacing the whole arm, firing .50 cals, and comes with a monthly shipment of 200 .50 Peacekeepers, and finally, featuring a clunky mechanical hand which required training to get used to. As with any Cyberprosthesis, he'd need a pacemaker in his heart to help function the new hardware. After two months of rehab, three months of Cyberprosthetic cellular binding, another three months of motor skills training, and a ceremony to award him with The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Charles consulted his Commanding Officer and requested to be reinstated. He was denied, for reasons unknown to him, but forces were at work in the shadows. (These forces in the shadows would be the Illuminati; though, if they are not present in the story, he will be an unaffiliated drunk) He picked up a drinking habit from his father and a feeling of sadness, preferring Scotch and fancy mixed drinks. He also prowls loose women in London bars, and prefers the love of a Scottish woman. He completed an Upper Second Medical Degree at the University of London. Years later, when he was 26, Charles received notice of an upgrade for his Cyberprosthetic arm, with a free Cyberprosthetic eye to come with it. He did not require motor skills training, his eye required a week of rehab, and he only required a month of Cyberprosthetic cellular binding for his eye and arm, which were linked by his nervous system, his eye to a camera on his upgraded gun; a white plastic and sterling minigun, which was also lighter and more portable, as the barrels were semi-retractable. His new mechanical hand was more natural feeling and easier to control. Black hair/Green eyesSkin is a sickly yellow tone, due to lack of sleep and liver disease, which is kept at bay by the Cyberprosthetics in his pacemaker, releasing special platelets which reduce disease and help cope with Cyberprosthetic rejection symptoms.Charles is somewhat built, with only minor muscular degradation from his military career, maintained by the weight of his Cyberprosthetics. His body fat level is abnormally low, due to his tendency to walk everywhere, and his almost anorexic behavior.Charles is almost never found without a formal suit, not differing much from his father's style. A single-breasted, notched suit coat, slacks, a clean white shirt, a black tie, but a black vest as well. Occasionally, Charles also wears a black shirt. He wears black wingtip Oxfords and a black Top Hat with a black velvet ribbon. On rainy days and times he expects violence, he wears longcoat, and a Kevlar vest when he expects violence, giving him a chunky, almost lovable appearance, discounting the minigun.[/line]Charles is not yet involved in any stories, I'll have to find one, or if someone approaches me.Not that I expect it.
