Saved game files won't appear.

So I downloaded a saved game manager and as the topic title says all my saved game files won't appear now, except the autosave file. I had to load the autosave.ess file from the ''my games/oblivion'' folder. The mod was supposed to sort out the different saved games by your profile name . Well, I've given every profile the exact same name, which is probably the reason why it won't work. Thing is, even if I delete the mod, the saved games still can't be loaded. Anything I can do?

If it's the one I'm thinking of (A friend tried to use it a while back and had the same issues, though her profile names were different) it'll only work with save games that are saved AFTER the manager is installed, and all those before are somehow lost. One way to check though is go to your documents, My Games, Oblivion, then Saves. If they're not there then the manager deleted them for some reason, if they are then I'd have to be honest with you and say I'm clueless. But, in my friend's case, she had lost her saves and had to start all over.

Like he said, check the oblivion folder and see if the saves are still there. If not, I'm afraid starting over is your only solution UNLESS:

You backed up those saves. Always have a copy somewhere. I've one in my desktop folder.

In the future:

1-Always back up your saves before doing anything to them

2-Don't use save game manager. Learn to use Wrye bash. Wrye Bash has utilities inside it to:

1- fix load order by time

2-arrange mods by grouping

3-save load orders

4-Fix saved games by removing bloat, repairing abomb, repairing factions, repairing hair

5-easily duplicate those saved games

6-has a Bashed Patch, which acts as a mod. You can put quite a few "bashed patch mergeable" mods into it. I've currently over 40 mods in mine. Plus, it has utilities of about 25 existing small mods(arrow speed, visible rings, etc.)

7-load different masters into a save for when you activate new mods

8- The Bashed Patch also serves as a function that'll save/preserve your load order

9- manage profiles

10- manage screenshots

11- convert an esp into an esm when that is needed(only once out of all the mods I've got..for OOO 1.3)

12-fix NVIDIA fog problems

13-mark those with mergeable levelers

14-duplicate any esp or esm instantly

and much more
