tehboggs
No problem. Though I hope you made that gold honestly. I mean we wouldn't want you to be doing anything that would put a bounty on your head or anything . . . :whistling:Why, yes of course I got all that gold with pure hard work. *off to steal more... err help people*

TIP:When grand champion, after defeating the creatures, set your difficulty to highest and then get your gold,it will most of the time give you more gold.It did that to me when i was on my first with the goblin and the two wolfs, gave me a thousand something :)
Ethre
If you don't die . . . ;) Personally, I save up my gold for hard times. Gotta love Bank of Cyrodiil interest rates
Shadowcran
Yeah, when playing with the "big 4" mods the moneymaking is a lot harder, the merchants a lot tougher, and there's a ton more you want to buy. Money's a lot dearer since I've modded up my Oblivion, but it's a lot more fun that way.... Of course, economics bores other people besides me...Hell, I used to preach in Runescape about the troubles of game economies and why some MMORPG's tank. I came up with the Grand Exchange that has helped stabilize RS's economy.. The problem between RS and Oblivion mods is that in Oblivion there is little room for improvement as 95% of anything I can think of has been done and done well. Shadowcran
Oh, and be aware of 2 glitches that sometimes effects this particular quest: 1) when you follow him, sometimes the Benirus guy won't go through the door. What I did was clean up my save with Wrye Bash, and when I went back he went in...I've no idea how that worked. 2) When the guy goes to the portal he waves his arms and nothing happens. I haven't had this one but others have. Anyone else notice how glitchy anything to do with Anvil is in Vanilla Oblivion?
Al Thor Rand
Speaking of Glitches... I have an interesting one n I don't want to have to uninstall n reinstall oblivion AGAIN... I get to the part where Velwyn waves his arms n I get the update that he did what he had to do n the door opens, ok well when I walk up to the skeleton n activate that quest to give him bk his hand it won't let me... I've played this before got through the quest with no probs but this time I can't continue on... I go to the door n open my console up n it says its still sealed (Sealed Door) but its open... I can't figure out how to activate the rest of this quest to finish it... I know there's a console debug/cheat but I don't know what the QuestID is or the Stage, so in otherwords how can I advance this quest n get it done n over with so I can have the damn Manor quest done lol... N no I have no other mods activated that is in or near the Manor... No other mods that are conflicting with it... I hate it when you can't finish a quest lol, drives me nuts... Please help anyone.... Thank YouIf you're getting the error where he doesn't open up the door, it's because you're using a timescale less than 20. That part of the quest script is based on running a package for a few minutes gametime. In the normal 1-30 timescale, this is only a few seconds, but when you have a different one, this requires real minutes, which creates a problem since he'll try to reevaluate his AI before it completes, breaking the quest. Just open the console and type "set timescale to 30" without the quotes during this part, and change it back to whatever you had afterward. You'll also need to do this for "a brush with death" for the same reason. I released a timescale mod which fixes the scripting related to this, but it's really your call. For house money, there could be a conflict as OOO does boost the needed funds for all houses quite a bit. For other bugs, these can occur if you have used cheats to bypass certain parts of the quest. Only those mods directly related to this house are likely to be the cause of any conflicts otherwise.
Al Thor Rand
I'm not getting any errors or anything like that... Like I said he opened the door n I got a quest update that says, "Velwyn successfully opened the door to the other room, which has stopped the ghosts from attacking. He then ran off, leaving me to clean up the mess. Its up to me, and me alone, to investigate what's beyond the mysterious portal." Velwyn did his job, quest updated, now what I'm having a prob with is when I go to the alter where the skeletons lying n click on the alter/skeleton NOTHING happens... Thats why I was asking what the console code was to advance this quest...

I mean we wouldn't want you to be doing anything that would put a bounty on your head or anything . . . :whistling: Yes, because none of the Oblivion players I have ever met make their gold in any sort of illegal manners! Especially not killing people! (:
