Frequent CTDs

I'm experiencing a whole lot of CTDs in certain areas which look like they are caused by not enough memory but my system can handle the game just fine at 58-60 FPS sustained at ultra settings even the moment the actual crash happens.

The game never exceeds 1.8GB of RAM or 80% CPU usage so its not even a LAA bug I'm facing. I'm aware that I'm running quite a lot of heavy hitting, but compatible, mods but since they dont really tax my performance, at all, it makes no sense to me to turn them off(which I already did and it didn't help) permanently. I'm experiencing most of the CTDs around lakes, rivers and the forrest with yellow/brown leaves. I know SkyRe_Races conflicts with Armed to the teeth but it's only the skeleton so at most it looks a little weird or is clipping but shouldn't cause a CTD. Just to make it clear, i already went through my list disabling every mod one by one without much success - the game wasn't crashing as often but it still happend to the point where playing on made no sense(every other fast travel instead of every other minute). The save files aren't bloated either @ 7MB size tops and I've disabled auto saves and I create new saves constantly while deleting the old ones. The fragmentation of the game files is under 0.1% so...I'm at my wits end. I've tried everything except a fresh install and going through the whole mod installing shebang again.

So, any ideas? Anyone? Please?

Have you adjusted your ugrids in the .ini? Doing so with the incorrect multiples can cause serious memory and crashing issues when loading into ram. The formula you should follow if you have adjusted the ugrids is the ugrid to load value +1, then multiply by your result. For example: if your ugrids is set to 7 it would be 7+1=8, 8*8=64. So you should set your exterior cell buffer to 64 if ugrids is 7.

Sorry if that doesn't make any sense. I had some issues with crashing and the ini files can really cause some trouble.

Also there is this guide that a moderator pointed out to me: http://s1.zetaboards.com/bbenlibrary/topic/4871296/1/#new

It is part of a bigger guide outlined here: http://s1.zetaboards.com/bbenlibrary/topic/4751769/1/?x=0#post631601ew

Follow those and you will probably find your issue.

I would strongly advise against adjusting uGrids unless you A) know what your doing or B) don't care about your savegames. Besides, by the sound of it, the problem is probably the result of one or more of your mods. Try disabling ALL of them except skyrim.esm and update.esm, and make sure skse is up to date with your patch version. See if you still get ctds then.

Alright, after combing through my papyrus error log i dont know whats worse: to know that i was too stupid to uninstall a few mods properly or to have that kind of work load in front of me. *sigh*

Thanks for the help, guys.

P.S.: No, i didnt edit the ugrids but now, knowing that i can change the aweful distance quality I'm quite tempted.

Once you fix what is going on now maybe then start thinking about ugrids. But some things to consider: it causes more crashes, you can't just adjust it back after you have changed it unless you follow specific instructions, and you need a pretty decent rig to handle it.

I was just mentioning that because I adjusted my ugrids to 7 and started getting crashes every 2-5 minutes in random areas around whiterun and a mod pointed out to me that I did it completely wrong and it was causing my game to crash. So I was thinking you might have the same problem. The other 2 links I posted can help A LOT with trying to find/fix crashes though. So read through those and get your Skyrim stable. Then it's up to you if you want to risk making it unstable again lol.

My current installation as well as my old one from back in november 2011, before i uninstalled it, were perfectly stable. The only mistake i made was not properly uninstalling Auto Unequip Arrows and WARZONES as well as some conflicting scripts from TYTANIS and Live Another Life. So some of the scripts from both mods were running in the back ground trying to find mods that were gone and whenever i entered a "warzone" the game crashed.

Now that i've actually read the WARZONES readme i know that i cant stop the scripts and since i started my current 15hr game with warzones...well, i can start from scratch. Guess i'm sh*t outta luck.

I'm already way past that but thanks for posting. As i said before, the only way to fix my game is to find out how to stop the following scripts

[07/23/2012 - 04:20:48PM] error: Unable to bind script F*ckingArrow to (000961EF) because their base types do not match (had to censor that one)

[07/23/2012 - 04:20:52PM] Cannot open store for class "WZONESSpawnOMany", missing file?

[07/23/2012 - 04:20:49PM] error: Unable to bind script A_MMM_RemovalScript to (FF000D96) because their base types do not match

[07/23/2012 - 04:20:49PM] warning: Property W1 on script ATTBase attached to (FF000BFB) cannot be initialized because the script no longer contains that property

while only WARZONES makes the game actually crash.

Warzones makes my game crash too. And I have a pretty decent setup. I love that mod but I love my game to be stable more so I just don't use it. I have just under what you have as far as system specs and I can't run that mod without crashes.\

And those scripts look like Warzones scripts. I don't know about every one of them but I know a couple are. Maybe the others are too.

Does your game run ok when you start a new game without warzones installed but all of your other mods in place?
