Trouble with doors with ladder attached.

So when ever I try to go to a trap door with a ladder on it I will be given the option to open the door. Which if I remember it correctly it should say ladder but either way I click and nothing happens. The door on the ceiling will open but I don't load into another area. Has anyone ever experienced this or could tell me which mod may be doing it. I suspect SMIM and tried looking it up and have come up with nothing.
