LE Custom helmet help.

Hi there,

 

I want to make this helmet:

But i don't knwo how to make the fur part.

 

I've seen that bethesda for fur uses simple meshes with transparency, for example in orcish one.

And in the imperial closed helmet just a simple mesh without transparency but looks a bit fake...

So is there a way to make it look better than the imperial one? using transparency will do the trick? or there is a even better way to do it?
