Enochatron
So Suppose I want to replace the way the leather armor looks. I found a mod with some cool armor, but it is a standalone, just placed in the game as its own armor set how would I take that armor and make it so that my leather armor looks like that? Vanilla leather armor is stored in the following path: Data\Meshes\Armor\Thief\ (yes, Thier, not Leather) Within that directory there are two folders, "F" and "M", their purpose should be obvious. Assuming you already have a stock replacer, navigate to that folder and take a look inside, you will see several files: Boots.nifCuirass.nifGloves.nifGreaves.nifHelmet.egmHelmet.nif You need to replace these files with the the appropriate ones from the mod armor. At the very least, the mod armor needs to be divided into Boots/Cuirass/Gloves/Greaves. Copy the mod files into the folder, then change their names as necessary.
