Skyrim improving

Hello, to all!

From about a week or more, I have few ideas that I want to share here. I'm sorry in advance, if there is already mod like this, or there's another topic about it.

I wonder why there isn't new quest lines yet? Maybe because, it spends too much time and efforts and no one want to do it for free. But, there is so much mods, for which from far away you can tell, that it has been put a lot of work in them. So why not? Here is my ideas:

1. New quest line, like a Dark Brotherhood quest line, or Thief's Guild quest line, but the story is about Templar Knights. At the end of the quest line, the player gets Templar Armor set. JaySuS has already awesome crusader swords. And its not only Templar Knights, there is a lot more stories from which can be made wonderful quests. Movies like Lord Of The Rings, Harry Potter, Arn, The Mummy etc. can be used as examples.

2. To be able to craft yourself Dragon and Daedric armor is not fun at all. They should be artifacts which are given at the end of long quest lines like Nightingales set. For me Daedric armor is special armor, which no one should have, and which contain enormous power that only the chosen can control. The armor may have fire resistance, magic resistance and such, but to be vulnerable to frost etc. Same thing with the dragon set. For example, the dragon armor can have a resistance to any kind of dragon attack etc. You may be able to craft it, but after completing the quest line. The most important thing is that the armors should be connected with some history. That will be for the people who want to be able to craft it.

3. Definitely, must be made a mod that allows player to control his followers in details. For example to be able to say to Lydia to use sword and shield, axe and shield, two-handed, bow or to dual-wield. Also the option the say to your followers when to attack, and when to stay idle would be very useful. I personally hate when i see a bandit or wolf, my follower to jump right in the moment and kill it, but on other side I play with ACE and ASIS on Expert and most of the time I really need help, so the only decision is to be able to say when to attack and when not.

I know that Im giving only the basic idea and not enough details, but there is so much opportunities and you don't know from where to start. Thats why I'll be glad if anyone who read this topic gives his opinion and his idea for quests and such. I'm really sorry about being so troubled and unable to do these things myself. I don't have the time, and the knowledge for the most. Thanks in advance!

1. I was right there with you until you said Templar Knights and Movies. Originality counts for a lot, and Templars have even been done in Elder Scrolls with Knights of the Nine.

2. The ability to make Daedric armor is actually friendly to lore in the game (there are books about whole mortal armies dressed in Daedric, Ebony, and Glass), but a few more quests with some epic equipable loot sound great.

3. This one has been made already. Something about Follower Interface, I don't remember where it is, but it's pretty intense.

1. I mentioned movies just for an example, mostly for the armors that can be created. There's a lot that can be seen from them. Well I've never played previous Elder Scrolls, and I don't know what Knight of the Nine was about. The fact that has been done already in previous part of Elder Scrolls, makes it even easier to be remade in Skyrim. Of course, not entirely identical.

2. In Skyrim there is a few quest that mentioned Daedra Lords and Priests, but nothing more, just random quests. All this Daedra type thing is so original that I wonder how Bethesda didn't make a whole quest line for it. Daedric should be special, not just regular craftable armor like Iron, Steel etc. The only thing that differs from the others is the armor rating, and that is not good at all. What are these books you talk about, where I can find them?

3. The most intense I know about is UFO, but it does not include this functions.

Don't know about the first ones, but your last one is Amazing Follower Tweaks. Look at the first picture in the descrip. Lets you set what type of combat any follower NPC will be. It does a lot. Even lets you put them into poses, choose individual gear. For combat, you can set two spells that they cast at the beginning of combat then go into archer or melee mode and not cast any spells at all. So like maybe a defensive spell or a candlelight spell or a fireball spell as you charge into melee range then all melee from there on out. Mod page describes it a lot better.

Got it on the first try - It does take a lot of time and effort. The CK has only been out for a bit over 4 months, and a good quest mod can take longer than that. Then BethSoft keeps coming out with patches that trash any attempt to make a quest type mod. (Navmesh problem anyone?) Each patch will change things that the modder is using in their mod forcing them to redo entire sections. Then another patch hits and they have to redo it all over again. The patches are desperately needed and welcome. But many of the modders who do make the big quest mods have postponed their mod until the patches stop or at least slow down - that could take a year or more.

Yea, you are right. I didn't think about the patches at all, but since they change so much, its impossible to make a quest right now. The best we can do now is, waiting and playing. Thanks for the answer.
