CrvyloOo
I recently added the Nevada Skies to my legitimate Steam-bought copy of Fallout: New Vegas, but I'm getting a very noticeable graphical glitch, that I hadn't gotten before installing this mod.http://i.imgur.com/pWFhC.jpgI'm extremely new to modding, so I'm not entirely sure what I was doing, but I originally just extracted the files into my New Vegas folder (Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas\Data) and this glitch was present. I did some googling, and installed the Fallout Mod Manager, and had that activate the mod zip file for me, saying it was successfully added. But this glitch was still present. I would greatly appreciate some insight on how to fix this, thank you in advance for any help.
Cynthetic
hi the texture file for nskies is goes freaky.. i did this to.. just replace the nighstsky texture in **\data\textures\sky\skystars.dds with another nightsky texture from the optional nightsky variants here http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/35998 Edited July 24, 2012 by CYNTHETIC
luthienanarion
That's what happens when you use a texture that doesn't have mipmaps with your texture size set to something other than "Large." Either change that setting, or replace the texture like CYNTHETIC mentioned.
CrvyloOo
So I took a look back on the page CYNTHETIC linked, and saw that I am using the NSkies 0-6 mod, and realized I didn't have the "NSkies 0-6-3 ESP" installed and only had "NSkies 0-6 Data." So I downloaded that and got the weather device and everything, and now that glitch still appears, only it has clouds in front of it and it's darker! I read on and it said that this mod is incompatible with low/mid settings, and to have it be compatible is to use a alternative NSkies download. But, which should I use? Could someone help me decide which NSkies to install to fix this glitch? Thanks again in advance. Thank you, luthienanarion! I didn't see your post until I posted this one, but I changed my texture size to large and there seems to be no graphical glitches. Thank you so much for your help. But I'm wondering, will this impact my game's performance? My computer isn't so great, but the game works just fine in its lowest settings, with only Texture Quality on medium. Unless you have a really small amount of VRAM, it shouldn't slow you down much. I used to play this game with an on-board Radeon 3100 (at low resolution, all settings as low as possible) and still set the texture size to Large. helloguy1232
The texture size probably isn't compatible with your settings. Other than that...Get another texture I guess.
