lisbo
Hey, im just wondering if anyone knows about a mod which really is about hardcore survival in an extreme wasteland. Like where radiation clouds of some sorts linger around and you have to use a gasmask to survive, and the sky would always be black or clouded. A mod where everything is pretty much a real wasteland where it is almost impossible to walk on the surface without encountering really nasty and creepy mutant creatures. A mod where weapons, ammunition and food is really scarce and it forces you to consider killing other people to aquire food. A mod with a really brutal and real wasteland. The Fallout universe is pretty much tame around this, and it sorta doesent really feel like a post apocalyptic world. I doubt there exist any mods like this, as i havent found any yet, but it would be sweet if something like this actually existed

DeadlySorrow
http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/35998 This mod adds more versatile weather effects to the Mojave. Weather effects include Sandstorms, Rain, Rainstorms, RADstorms (make sure you got Rad-X), Thunderstorms (with/without rain) and snow at appropriate areas. The Mod adds more than 60 new cloud- and weather variants to the game. Sunrises and sunsets have been tweaked, and nights are darker then the "vanilla" nights (even darker nights possible per new Perk). Additional changes to the environmental light appearance to support the weather appearance and the mood they create. The desert textures have been reworked to better reflect the look of the Mojave desert as well as to suit the new ambience light and sky effects. Bloom effect reworked to reduce NPC and player figure glow appearance. http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/35015 This mod will consist of a number of modules designed to tweak, balance, and adjust gameplay. Most of the content will be ported over from my existing Fallout 3 mods, and kept in one place to make it easier for players to find the balance modules they want.As a heads-up, these modules will generally be designed to make the Nevada landscape a far less forgiving place. Most (though not necessarily all, as is the case with Quieter Vats) will probably be best enjoyed by those playing Very Hard+Hardcore and still seeking a bit of extra stress from the wasteland (without resorting to such gimmicks as increased enemy health, etc.). All modules are completely independent, and can be enabled or disabled at any time. http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/37254 This mod adds six additional levels of nutrition to Hardcore mode's original 3 (fullness, protein, nutrients, stimulants, mood, and alcohol), increasing both the immersion and challenge of the hunger/thirst/sleep portion of the game, and tracks all levels in ways that were modeled on human physiology, using real numbers. I'm well aware that this was a completely over the top, bordering on insane thing for me to do, but the end result became one of most popular needs mods for Fallout 3, so it was most likely worth it. http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/34814 this is the temp mod i was talking about it turns out you can only check the temp and other factors but it doesn't effect the character at all so its kinda useless but thought i would post a link anyway http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/34759 Arwen's NV Realism Tweaks:it would be best to check this one out yourself as it adds a lot to the game and i don't think i could fit it all into one post http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/34898this mod adds realistic repairs to the game i thought i would add this as it makes the game more realistic Repair Guidelines- Weapons with sharp edges/blades can be repaired with Whetstones.- Long metal weapons like the golf club can be repaired with a Hammer.- Mechanical equipment and Guns can be repaired with Replacement Parts.- Wooden weapons can be repaired with Wonderglue, aswell as Baseball Bats for the items with larger amounts of wood.- Electronic equipment(ex. Powered Armor) and Energy Weapons can be repaired with Replacement Electronics.- Equipment with large metal surfaces can be repaired with Armor Plating.- Leather equipment can be repaired with Leather Patches and Leather Belts(in most cases).- Cloth and other Misc equipment can be repaired with Wonderglue and Detergent.- Combat Armors are repaired with both Armor Plates and Leather Patches, as there is no good analogue to composites.- Weapons with similar mechanisms and/or caliber can be cross-repaired(Not yet fully updated).- Clutter items repair for 4-9% depending on repair skill, repairing with a weapon yields at least twice as much even with very low condition. it took a long time to gather all these so please give kudos and if you are looking for anything more specific try searching in the gameplay effects and changes category on the new vegas nexus. P.S. most of these mods require NVSE which can be found here: http://nvse.silverlock.org/ Edited July 26, 2012 by DeadlySorrow
lisbo
Oh wow, exellent! This will surely make the game way more realistic and interesting! :D Many thanks, and yes loads of kodos for you! Too bad none of this are complete overhauls to really turn it into total and complete hell on earth...That would be pretty fun haha, maybe il make a mod like that myself (even though i have no modification experience.) Oh well, many thanks for the list! i really appreciate it :) Edited July 27, 2012 by lisbo
