Dingo07
Hello all. I'm new around here and just started playing SKYRIM 2 days ago. I love it so far and have installed a couple mods from NMM that I read are essential. After putting files in their correct directories in order not to get skse errors when I open my Inventory in game, I now want to go one step further. My question is with the Steam loader. When I'm in my Steam Library, I want to be able to click <PLAY w/ mouse icon> and run skse_loader.exe - as well, when I right-click the game on the left pane and select <Play Game...> What do I need to edit in order for that to work? Your help is greatly appreciated!
SkinnyLegs1
It depends on your OS really. I am new to Skyrim and modding as well. I have Vista 64 bit and what I did was right click on my desktop short c*** skyrim and chose "Properties" In the window that opens I clicked on the "Customize" button. The window that pops up show the word "Play" next a series of numbers set in a colume. Click on Play that is in the #1 slot and choose edit. The next screen that opens is the pointer telling the short cut where to go to execute the game. I replaced the Skyrimloader.exe with the SKSE_Loader.exe and saved it. Closed all the windows and that is it. If you have windows XP you right click on the Skyrim short cut and choose properties The window that opens should show the target for the shortcut and you make the changes as I described for Vista. And that should work. Another option is to find the SKSE_Loader in the Skyrim directory. Right click it and I believe there is a option to "pin it " to the start menu or the desktop. Then you can change the name and choose a new icon for it.
glockshna
Create a non steam game shortcut to SKSE_loader.exe or whatever it's called. It'll show up in your library and the steam context menu on the task bar after that.
Dingo07
Thanks SkinnyLegs1 but those options aren't available in Windows7. @glockshna - that's great - I wasn't aware I could do that, thanks! The whole point of this is because I have to run Steam in order to run the game in the first place, because skse needs steam to be running for some reason. It's great that now I have a selection I can click on in Steam - easy breasy!
