1st time modding/ shader (?) questions.

Allow met to start by saying I have a low end computer. (As in I spent about $200 on it a year ago at Wallmart type low end). As such I can only run oblivion on settings between low and very low, for an example, go into the launcher, click the low button, then increase the resolution to 800x600 and then turn on the light bright setting.

The end result is that oblivion looks pretty bad. Nothing unbearable, but bad.

As it would happen, at one point I got hit with a drain endurance poison from one of the Grunmites. The effect of it gave my character the usual spell coating effect but in black. The heavy black outline combined with the light bright setting gave my character an almost cell shaded look, similar to the one in Outlaws. As a result, I got hit with drain poisons a lot more.

What I want to do is create a mod/ shader package that replicates this effect onto, well, everything (Or at least every character/NPC)

I have some questions regarding this:

1: Is this even possible?

2: Is this something someone with my level of modding knowledge (little to none) could figure out?

3: If so, where would I start looking for a way to do this?

4: Would this require OBGE?

You can create shaderers with the tool, and I have bumped into some settings that gave the character a really thick black outline. They are not to difficult to make but will take some going back and forth between the game and the construction set. In the shaderers box there's an Edge Effect box that can get you what your looking for. Set the Falloff to maybe around 5, and make it black, set all the other options in that box to 0, then change persistent alpha to 1. Edited by scarycave

Thank you, I am trying that now.
